Topic: Negative posting limit due to the tumblr raw images being discovered

Posted under General

So I knew a few artists (like fuze) that only post their stuff on tumblr, and wanted to make sure more people could see their stuff (also so I could search by tags easily...).
This was before tumblr had revealed the Raw images to public access, so the highest resolution I could get was the 1280 ones.
My posting spurred on many more people to upload content from these artists. This also meant that when the raw image access was discovered, most of my posts got replaced with higher resolution/uncompressed copies.

Thus, despite uploading 104 posts, with quite comprehensive tags (always aiming for 40+) and at the highest quality available at the time of upload, 68 were deleted, bringing my upload limit to -4
I understand why this was done, and I'm not arguing that. I'm simply asking that I at least get my posting limit raised such that I can at least upload one post at a time.
I actually have a folder of 23 images where I have a higher resolution/quality version of posts that I wish to upload (none of them paid items, I made sure to keep those out of my searches)

I have seen that I should sent an email to [email protected], which I have done, but I never received a response. That was 9 months ago. I understand the staff is busy, but I feel that the email was overlooked or ignored at this point, so I was hoping to get some help here.

Have you tried messaging an admin with e6’s messaging system? They should be more likely to see it that way.

I'm not sure who oversees the management e-mail, but you could try contacting one of the adminstrators through a dmail.

It sucks that happened to you.

I have not. I wasn't sure who best to ask or if I should just pick one at random and hope they sympathize.

Yeah, just not sure who best to ask.
and eh, it happens. I suppose on some level I kinda deserved it. But even if I uploaded the new versions myself, I'd still only have 2 uploads at any given time, seeing as deleted posts count more against you than approved uploads count for you.
Kinda sucks working that hard and getting up to 20 uploads and then having it all taken away from me due to something out of my control, really. I even had contacted some artists, asking if I could have the raw files, but many of them got rid of a lot of the pictures not long after they were uploaded.
The effort seeming to have gone to waste is why I took so long to bother even reaching out. My posts started getting deleted ~June 2017, and I didn't reach out initially until April 2018, and didn't follow up until now.

I'm the one reading all management emails, and I can't find an email from your account in my inbox. Maybe it got swallowed by the spam filter?

In any case, I've set your uploading limit to 15, do let me know if it feels too restrictive.

I've made a similar mistake, posting a publicly available comic that deleted upon request a few years later (the artist chose to have it removed, which is fine and understandable). I'm left at an upload limit of four posts. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one with this issue.

Speaking of, there's a bug on my profile page. I've uploaded two images, yet my profile claims you can see five posts.

It's a minor bug and I doubt it's ever going to cause issues, but it's a bug nonetheless.

That's certainly possible as well? Dunno. So many things could've gone wrong in transmission, it's not worth it to think about what happened and just move on from here ^^
15 is fantastic. Far more than I expected, thank you very much!

Probably nothing site breaking. Usually those counts get updated very slowly, so I'd wait a week. but I've also seen people with negative favorites and posts, so maybe there's something else going on there? Either way, probably not worth the time it'd take to debug it if it is an error, IMHO.
