Topic: Deleted content on Tumblr that is otherwise behind a paywall.

Posted under General

Recently i have realised that there may be a problem with some art pieces (mostly Gideon's i think) that i uploaded here.

Namely some of the pics were on his Tumblr and thus could be posted here, but since being deleted they arenow technically payed content which falls under dnp.

I am interested/concerned in the potential status of these uploads since there are quite a number of them. Do they have some form of retroactive immunity or somesuch, or are they to be deleted?

Things that were free at one point, and weren't removed on request by the original creator, will continue to be treated as free.

The decision to purge all tumblr content was made by tumblr, not the artist's themselves, so we will not treat them as paid content.

As long as you can provide at least some level of evidence that the content was at tumblr, it should be accepted. If we just suddenly get ultra HD content out of nowhere from artist with patreon we are going to get at least suspicious.

For example tumblr export does also include HTML files, where you should be able to get both original tumblr post address as well as link to direct image sample version.

post #1744480 for example was tumblr exclusive artwork by artist, I got the URLs from the exports HTML folder while image was in images folder. Clicking direct image link still works and MD5 on the URL actually matches the post.
