Staff doesn't do this. Obfuscate your account name with a rename, change the password and email to something you won't ever be able to use, and move on.

accounts cannot be removed.

I wish one of these frequent "delete my account pls" threads would wind up pinned to the front of the forum page so people would (hopefully) quit asking this.

Or they make an official "I don't want this account" thread for educating reasons and sticky it like for the "my post has been deleted" and other such common topics.
