Should I include a direct link to the original image when uploading a small edit?

If all you're going to is raise the brightness there is no point in even uploading it, as it would be a low effort edit. (Also no, don't include direct link)

Yes I understand that levels balancing does technically degrade an image by a tiny amount, but it would make it much easier to see.

I mean what I say literally, simply changing the brightness of an image would get deleted as being a low effort edit.

Small improvements like that can be put in the comments or description.

Those are not allowed.
We want the originals, not 'small improvements' made by someone other than the artist.

If somebody wants to adjust the levels afterwards, they can do it themselves.
