I set your tag to the artist section sniped. Do you have any 3rd party sites you post to? Furaffinity, inkbunny, et cetera...

E621 has wiki pages for all tags. I can add your additional sources to your artist tag, if you want.

I wasn't the one to change it. BooruHitomi managed to add & change it just before me, so thank them.

Y'all don't have to do all that. I was just curious as to why my username wasn't showing. Unless I need too-? I've had problems like this in the past, it's just incompetence on my behalf I suppose-

Nah, it ain't incompetence. This site's tags are made and were changed with various prefixes, AFAIK other sites also use artist:, character:, and etc to add/change tags to respective categories.

No, now whenever you use Abiggeygoat as a tag it will be in the artist category. Use these prefixes only once when creating a new tag entirely, IE maybe character:big_gey_goat so that your character "big gey goat" is automatically created into the character category. But that's just an example, you usually don't need to use prefixes.

Ohz. I'm fairly new to posting to the site, I apologise for any inconveniences. Thank you so much-!

If you or someone else created the tag before without setting a category, then only Privileged and above members can use the prefix method to change it. Since you did so without setting a category when adding a new tag for your username, it wouldn't have changed if you were to start adding the artist: prefix to it afterwards. You would have had to go into the tag index, search for your tag over there, and then click "edit" under the column that says "Type" to change it to an Artist tag.

I thought it would work so long as the tag count was at 0.

Oh man, it's like this change to tagging artists confuses new users and artists or something :P

Well it has cut the accidental vandalizm to zero.
Also this whole situation is kinda funny because tag type has always been changed trough the tags menu, but because of years of missinformation floating around nobody has actually done the tag change this way.
Also if you are using the site properly, at least I pretty much require the tags page when uploading and tagging posts, so I'm also kinda worried how low amount of people know how to utilize tha pages of this website.

Most likely pretty few. It takes effort: ToS, wikis... That's alot of reading for someone who's here to look at, and share, porn.
