Topic: Favorting Issue

Posted under General

Hi guys, sorry to bug you but I need help with something. I deleted all of my favorites and put them into a private set. Even though I deleted all of em, it still says I have like 300+favs. Can anyone help me get my favorite count back down to zero where it should be currently?

Those favorites were deleted. Not totally sure if anything can be done since most look like they were takedowns.

Favorites of inferior get transferred to the superior post. So those aren't a prob, just the takedowns.

you can un-favorite things from the search page, it's in the mode options under the search bar. If they really wanted they could add those deleted posts to the set as well.

Judging by the search of your favorites (fav:ArticLight status:any), it seems the rest of them may possibly be destroyed posts, aka posts that were not only deleted from the site but actually perma-deleted from the site. Unfortunately, I don't think anyone can access perma-deletions, not even admins post-destroying

Out of curiosity, what qualifies a post for perma-deletion?

There are a few situations in which we do perma-deletions, usually for legal reasons. NSFW content created by minors usually gets perma-deletion, for example. But yeah reasons are gonna vary on the situation, tbh.

Thank you so much for trying to help me friend

Most likely cause of this is that the counter is out of date. This is pretty typical and happens over time. For instance I have 3 deleted posts, but there is actually only one post of mine that is deleted. I don't have a tool to deal with refreshing counters, so it just stays like that right now. But it also doesn't hurt anything either. Just ignore the number and pay attention to the results you get from search.
