The only source code of e621 that can be found is Danbooru and e621 is a heavy modified fork of it, so it's not very usefull.
Is there any reason why the source of E621 is not public as well?
It would be very helpful when developing userscripts or similar and would also allow users to help with backend stuff and understand some decision made for the new version.

e621 has actually become open source with the latest update, it was closed source prior.

AWESOME, because the wiki page seams to be locked I will just hope that it will get updated soon.
