Topic: Should a piece of fanart be tagged with the original creator's tag?

I found a few fan pieces, but because the creator doesn't have an artist tag here yet, it made it look like it's the work of the original artist at first. I didn't change any tags, but do we tag fan art like that here?

This was the first time I saw a couple of lone fan pieces like this, with a solo artist tag that's just for the inspiration. I guess my main grumble is it felt misleading at first, especially since the style was similar enough I thought it was just some earlier, less refined works from them.

No. The artist tags we add are only those for the artist/artists who actually drew the piece. If the character's original artist had no hand in drawing the picture, you don't tag them.

Character tags (and copyright ones, where applicable) are preferred for this purpose.
