Topic: Why aren't there Hentai anime with female furries or a cast of furries only?

Posted under General

I have noticed that on the E-Hentai Galleries page there are lots and lots of Hentai manga with Furry theme. Although most of them are Doujinshis.

After realizing that, I thought about ... Why aren't there Hentai animes with a Furry theme where female Furries appear (real furries, no catgirls and no generic kemonomimi) and not only male rapists?

You'll see. I'm tired of Hentai in anime being the same old thing. Because it is too limited to X things and that already has me fed up.

Because they are not trying to be somewhat innovative. I want to see something new. Something like betting on the Furry theme where they include a cast made up exclusively of Furries, both males and females.

I would like it to be a Hentai anime that is as straight as possible. Because I have noticed that there are visual novels and Hentai manga about Furries. But most of it is about Yaoi. As if female Furries didn't exist.

How Hentai has changed in recent years, becoming more and more generic, more one with the direction of the anime industry that is currently taking and that must stop.

Perhaps the Furry theme in Hentai will be limited in the Manga Doujinshi and it seems that it will not jump to anime. Because the Japanese seem to discriminate against Furries.

I guess my wish to see an anime adaptation of the Tail Tale segment of the visual novel Yaminabe Aries will never come true.

I think it's only a matter of time before you see something like this. Fully anthro/furry designs are creeping into more mainstream Japanese works. See Interspecies Reviewers, Beastars, and others. Until then you'll just have to use your imagination.

Hentai producers have no interest in catering to western markets because they know westerners don't buy hentai, they just pirate it. So if isn't gonna sell in Japan, they won't make it.

lack of interest is def the main reason. with popularity of things like beastars and bna increasing, though, i could see more female furry hentai going (relatively) mainstream

Well, I do hope I'm not the only one hoping that there'd be hentai revolving around the bara genre, especially with furry bara, and especially with an anime adaptation of Morenatsu.
I do think with Beastars, there's going to be a lot of hentai inspired by that perhaps.

I think as the Furry Fandom becomes more and more accepted by the mainstream, we will start seeing more variety in media. I've already seen far more anthro characters in anime in recent years then I ever would have expected. As more producers are beginning to realize that furries have stupid amounts of money they are willing to burn, more media catering to us will arrive.

Off the top of my head, I can think of a few anime that had fully furry female anthros.

A lot of these have mainly kemonomimi as main cast waifus with only a sprinkling of full on furry anthros. When we see 100% fur-covered love interests in anime (bonus points for NO harem) that will be a brick shitting moment.

Looking for some isekai manga now that had full anthro in chapter 1, but just an unnamed character. I think I blipped it. Edit: The Laid-back Life in Another World of the Ex-Hero Candidate Who Turned out to be a Cheat from Level 2

It's a general trend in media that female characters who are supposed to be viewed from any kind of sexual angle (no matter how sfw; the League of Legends roster is my favourite example) are as close to human as possible, while male designs have more freedom. So you're just not likely to see larger productions doing this. Anywhere.

Minor nitpick, to my knowledge yaoi is specifically female-target-audience content, and most of what you've seen is likely male-targeted. Female-target content from what I've seen also typically keeps male characters as close to human as possible. Not sure what all this says beyond gay men being the only perceived target for sexualised anthros though.

I've gotta say when I found Beastars I wasn't expecting it to take off the way it did or even hit the mainstream West at all. I wouldn't put Interspecies Reviewers in the same category though since its female anthro content is kept to its own containment zones and the vast majority of "beast" characters are kemonomimi.

Correct, I listed them because they had female anthros at all, instead of only kemonomimi.

I want to return to this and it is that. I find it very ironic that there are many Hentai manga about Furries, although mostly Doujinshi and there is no Hentai anime with a Furry theme where there are also real female Furries and not generic kemonomimi girls.

There are manga that for me should have an anime. At least in OVA format. These sleeves that should have an animated adaptation are:

Wild Zoo (Matsurino Naginata)*
Book of the Beast (TEAM SHUFFLE)
Maniac Animals (Okawari Jiyuu)
The works made by Tamago Bakudan
The works made by Yuuga Momiji
Mahou no Juujin Foxy Rena (Amakuchi)
The works made by Kiichi

*:There are also kemonomimi girls although if they make an animation of that manga, I want them to be redesigned to have a more anthro and less humanoid design

Could you tell me the reason why they never make an anime based on that kind of manga.

If I were to guess, I'd say because anime has a higher cost to produce, and is an overall riskier investment. Especially these days, it's a lot easier and cheaper to put out a manga to a wide audience as an independent creator doing what you like, while creating an anime requires contracting a production company to make it (and if you want to ensure a good adaption, you'll want a more prestigious company with a good reputation and track record, which will be more costly by default). On top of that, many non-furries see adult furry content as uncomfortably close to bestiality/zoophilia (especially with animal-styled junk, or more animalistic anthros, to say nothing of outright feral characters), which creates an expectation of lower sales. Such a production company will then want to raise the cost further to cover the potentially low sales. Some companies might not be comfortable associating with that kind of content, requiring even more money to convince them, and some companies may just refuse, making them unavailable for any price.
