Topic: [Feature] Report features

  • Highlighting pending, already reported Comments.
  • A pop-up message, if:
    • the comment is older than a month.
    • the comment was already processed and has a "User received a record for the contents of this message" flag.
    • the user who is about to be reported, is already permanently banned

The pop-up messages should clarify that the comment has to be incredibly harmful. E.g. harmful links etc. With a link to the how to report comments forum thread

It would reduce unnecessary reports.

Could also be useful if they've recieved a neutral or negative record since that message, even if it's from another comment. Give the reporter a chance to verify it's not the same cause for a record, but let them still do it if it's different (ie Roleplaying versus Spam).

Ahh. Not a fan of this. If you post a comment in unthoughtfulness, and you regret it a couple of days later, you'll still be exposed, shamefully in some cases. I see how it would make it easy to "hunt down" the creeps, but I think that would go too far.

What are you talking about? I'm saying if they were roleplaying a week ago, and you found a comment from five days ago that also included roleplaying, but the first comment got them a record three days ago, you'd be informed when trying to report the five-day comment that they already got a record after that comment was posted.

huh, I wonder if a comment having a "this comment has been reported" notification similar to "user received warning for this comment" would be worth them programming in, that way they wouldn't get cluttered in reports. Granted that could also cause the same amount of drama as people get when they see the current notifier bar for recorded actions

Yeah. And that would point out, "hah, this weirdo did some embarrassing things a couple of days ago", making them a target for hate pm's. And maybe they already regret what they have done. Ok. I just noticed, if they keep going after they got a flag... they probably don't regret it... and if they got the "user received warning for this comment" flag, they are a target in the same way... just some days later. Perhaps this idea isn't that bad.

The "user received warning for this comment" flag, appears after the ticket was processed by an admin. Before it is handled, other user can keep going to report it without noticing that it is already reported. This piles up the tickets. Adding the "this comment has been reported" pre flag would reduce this.

yes I was agreeing with you it could be a useful idea, just spit balling how it should be implemented and the possible downsides.

What about cases where a user maliciously edits their comment to troll after receiving a record? Shouldn't it be possible to report the comment again?

Brings up a point that comments which have been faulted should have their content locked.
User still having the ability to hide the comment, as staff peeps can still see it.

Don't think to much into it, I only speak one language and do so poorly.
