Long story short I'm changing where people can find the full resolution versions of my artwork, is it okay to edit descriptions of old artwork to reflect this?

Reason I wasn't sure is because this is more of an archival site and it could've been frowned upon to change the 'original' description of something, if that makes sense.

Well, if it's your artwork, it's up to you what you have in the descriptions.
If some 3rd party started randomly editing some artist's original descriptions, that would be another story.
