Topic: I fear i might get a record or a ban for almost anything

It might seem a bit late to talk about this, but i feared i would get banned for telling a user about the possibility of them not being non-binary a while ago. I was afraid my comment could be perceived by an administrator or moderator as transphobic.

I am not transphobic, it's just [SELF-CENSORED FOR THE FOLLOWING REASON: Could be perceived by an administrator or moderator as disruptive.]

I have abstained from reporting some things i think are a violation of the code of conduct, just because i fear i might get banned if what i reported happens to be something the first administrator or moderator who sees the ticket happens to agree with.

This site does not feel the same as it did when i created my account.

Does anyone else share the same feeling?

Well, that comment didn't get you in any trouble, and I wouldn't expect it to. Admittedly, I didn't read through all the context though. More generally, I think that's a common sentiment here. There certainly have been times I've had to bite my tongue on here. I don't think that's anything new though.

If you ever look at the ticket queue, you'd notice users report the most trivial of shit...

Eh, I don't think it is ban worthy, an odd thing to say for sure but nothing rule breaking, besides unless you say something REALLY bad you will, most of the time simply receive a warning.

I find the people here to be more level-headed than most other sites, mostly because people are often treated the same regardless of who they are, however I have seen some mods be pity when it comes to certain tags (locking tags despite being in the wrong), and even acting inmature when giving a ban reason. (I remember one user who got banned and the reason given was "lol".)

I will say that for the most part the moderation in this site is fair.

Some people are way too sensitive to "creepy" comments

No joke. I myself am not bothered by them, I understand not everyone is the same and we all handle things differently, but for me creepy comments are cringy at worst and funny at best.

I'm just built different.

I think the main thing about creepy/inappropriate comments is that they're just kind of annoying and borderline spam, and comments on any website could do with a little less of that. if there's any rule that makes people think a bit rather than posting "Oh god, I wish that were me...", "How is this allowed here???", "LMAO ๐Ÿ˜‚", "Perfect time to log in!", "First!", or some other inane bullshit under every other post on the website it's probably a net good.

I disagree. Comments like "First" or "Perfect time to log in" are way more annoying than "wish that were me" or something like that. I'm rather bothered by the fact that posts are X rated and comments have to be PG.

It's not that they have to be PG, it's that no one wants to know or cares that you wish you were being fucked/fucking the character in the post, it's just creepy.

I think another reason for the creepy comments rule is that many artists don't want to see that under their work. It's a consent thing.
(Not all artists, some are fine with it or even encourage it, but a significant number don't want to see those comments)

they're all equally valueless slop, spewed onto the comment sections of posts by users that care more about being heard than saying anything worth listening to. they add nothing to the discussion of the post and function only to make it take longer to scroll to the bottom of the page.

That was great bait, thank you, electricitywolf.
Very entertaining.
