I'm not trying to back-seat mod or anything, but this morning's front pages are full of seemingly-random junk posted by user ktkr... Are we being trolled? Is someone just dumping a slew of unrelated images? Could someone look into it, please?

Edit: Also, I've been here a long time, but never really messed with the forums... can someone please point me to WHY almost everything is voted -1 now/why voting works the way it does now?

The -1 thing is apparently just some poster doing it for shits and giggles. The voting system as is only allows users of level Privileged or above to actually vote. The problem, however, is that there aren't very many users of such levels, especially compared to the sheer amount of regular members on the site. It's currently being worked on, but it's not exactly a priority right now.

Very well, then, is there a means by which I can get myself "Privileged" status so I can up-vote things I like again? I've heard rumors that "Privileged" users are paid accounts, but I haven't seen a method to buy a subscription, etc... Then again, I haven't seen a description of the new voting rules and the other changes, either. >.<

as far as i know, privleged users have to earn it. for a short amount of time, if you donated you could get the status, but i don't know if thats coming back. ktkr, for example, earned it.

Privileged accounts are not purchased, they are earned. And there's not much sense in describing the new voting rules because we fully intend to revert back to the old style of voting, it just hasn't happened yet. We're waiting on Nrr to get around to reverting it whenever he can.
