Topic: [FEATURE REQUEST] Resizable flash

Posted under General

Hello,

As you guys probably know, the size on flash videos are not determined on this site.

This is why I either request for:

a) Determine the size of flash videos. This requires tinkering of the code, since it is saved in the header of the flash. I don't know if this is reliable though. Also I don't know if you guys know the base code well, so there is another idea:
b) Make the flash applet rezisable. See this as reference: http://aspbooru.tk/Post/Show/311 On the bottom left of the flash itself there is a small symbol which should remind you of standard GUI resize symbols. This also changes the size in the EDIT tab for the flash. You can save the flash with a new size. My login system is broken currently so you can't exactly login and try changing out. I made the back-code of the site btw. It's in development. Trying to improve on the other boorus. Like FLV/MP4 support, cutting out FLV/MP4 from SWFs, determining if GIFs are animated and thus creating a small animated symbol below them (or allow to search isAnimated;true), and otherwise trying to be better. :)

What are your thoughs about this?

... Hint: Try the "Kick some ass!" button on ASPBooru

If you want to resize a flash, click "save this flash" under the image and simply resize your browser window.

That's way too easy. Also if you have a slow computer it is sometimes initially TOO big. Which makes everything lag.

Also where's the, sometimes useful, comments then? :)

If your computer can't handle saving/viewing a flash, a relatively simplistic task, chances are browsing an image archive is out of it's league as well. Even my ancient '97 laptop manages to handle flash images fairly well - and while it may take a bit for the entire loop to load, it in no way affects any other processes I might be doing at the same time.

Generally, when you know your hardware is shit, you accept the consequences.

I've seen plenty of flashes that can lag on even my high-end gaming computer, assuming that by flash you mean an actual high quality video/game. I have seen things that have higher RAM/CPU requirements than several of the games I have bought in the last few years (mostly because Flash is the most inefficient format known to mankind).

If any of you use Adobe...it's no wonder. That is such a bloated program, it isn't even funny.

For playing already downloaded flashes, I use either Eolsoft Flash Movie Player or Swiff Player.

@WolfieWolfie1992

Oh lord. Swiff Player USES Adobe Flash Player in the background. Same as just running it in the browser.. Plus extra functions.

@Hellacious
My computer can handle most flash movies. But some are just...

Feature Request thread? How could I've overseen that..
