The only problems I see with Mibbit is it is banned from a LOT of IRC servers. Plus I don't really trust 3rd parties running a IRC proxy.
IMO https://qwebirc.org/ is better, since it can be hosted by anyone.

Yeah and IRC is a public forum, even more than a web forum, which means you'll get people of all kinds on all levels. I bet some of these are just people seeing the news banner and going for it. Those that actually want to talk will find a way. Also bear in mind that it's an IRC channel for a furry porn archive, you're gonna get people talking about porn and sex and some will not take the time to read the rules and try to RP and whatnot, all you can do is not snap at them but refer to the rules and/or redirect them to more suitable channels. If they talk to you, and you don't like it, then don't talk to them.

We obviously just need the IRC version of /b/ :V

It's enough that one of the regulars made and registered their own channel to have those tired of it have another place to go that isn't one of the many fetish-focused channels on the network.

I see what you mean. There should be a legend somewhere around stating that site rules apply in the IRC.

This would be preferable, but that isn't up to me. Changing the topic to include a link to the site's Code of Conduct is at least a simple fix, but the CoC isn't directly applicable to the IRC. We would need a ruleset for the IRC specifically.

The site staff is also the IRC staff. Many staff do not use IRC. Nimmy, Tony, and myself are the most active staff in the channel. Even then, an onsite IRC client is by no means imperative to the functionality of the site. Consider that even with the broken Java client the site ran fine. It should not be some grave undertaking to expect people to act like normal adults, even on here and on an IRC channel counterpart to here.

Kicking simply removes someone from a channel. They are able to rejoin at any time. If you are banned you should get a message saying so when you try to join a channel.
