Topic: My decision of contribution.

Posted under Art Talk

People, and users, of E621, the time has come to me, Waverun, for CHANGE! For Progression! And for a new dawning day! The time has come, for me, to finally make a contribution to E621. And, that is JUST what I shall do! So, with that being said, I have finally decided that since I am currently unable to CREATE images to upload to E621, I will instead use my VAST, but not THAT vast experience using the GIMP 2.8 image editing software, to Edit the images that other artists make, WITH of course, the artists' FULL permission granted, if they grant me their permission to do so!

So, as of now, Whenever I intend to, but only when I feel that I'll be making a contribution by the method explained one line and five words below, I will be sending E621 artists messages, private or public, requesting permission to edit images that they have made, and upload them to E621, as long as I tag the artists and characters and and tags that fall under the "tag what you see" policy of E621! And I will even tag the last known source of the image, which will obviously be from THIS site.

THIS, is how I shall make my contribution to E621! I hope you all don't mind me doing this! Have a nice day!
sincerely,
-Waverun.

Alright guys, so far I've got no replies from the artists who I've asked permission to edit their images in the comments section of their images, and I don't know how to send them a message in E621 without the use of comments, so, I'd appreciate it if somebody tell me how to send E621 artists a message within E621 if it's possible.

You could try sending them a personal note, I know at least FA and Inkbunny will let you do that. They'll notice that sooner than a random comment on one of their submissions.

open the artist's profile by clicking their username and click the "send message" right below the e621 on upper left corner

Trace their ip, stalk them. Then sneak into their house and make your demands at sharpened spoon point and if they refuse, behead them in the name of the Pony gods!

lol i know of only 4, potentially 6 if you count chrysalis and nightmare moon, pony gods currently or has there been new additions i've missed in the current season of the show?

Did you comment on their pictures here? If so, that's not going to get many artists' attention. e621 doesn't do anything at all to alert an artist when an image of theirs gets a comment. Even if they're the ones to upload the image e6 doesn't make it easy to tell when you've gotten a comment on an upload. The only surefire way to get their attention is to send them a note.

I'll eventually contribute to this side (and others) as well. I just need to practice a bit more with my drawing hobby, then I'll think myself ready to draw "professionally".

Nah, asking in the comments section almost guarantees no replies as most posts here were uploaded by other people rather than the artist themselves. Only some artist(who posted here themselves or know its here) would reply to you if they even check their posts' comments.

If you're sure that the e6 user who posted the art is the artist, send them a note(or PM) by going to on their profiles and clicking "Send Message" on the top left corner.

But it would be better to go straight to their workplaces(websites) like FurAffinity, InkBunny, Weasyl, Pixiv or SoFurry. Contact them directly via the sites' PM.

Alright everyone, I haven't been making any progress with sending E621 artists messages and that's because I couldn't find a way to get to their profile to send them a message, and the only way I know of to get to a user or artist's E621 profile is to click on their names in the comments section, to which I can't find any artist's names in their comments of the comments section because they hardly ever post a comment on any image on E621.

So if you guys know any ways to go to their profile on E621 then I'd be glad to hear them. Thanks again.

Not many artists use e621. It's mostly content consumers here rather than content creators D: You'd really have to get a hold of them on their "home site," or possibly through e-mail if they list one. Other than that, I gots no suggestions D:

That being said, wanna edit one of my images? There are a few here :V All I ask beyond credit is that you let me know what you're thinking of editing first :P

Post us links of the pictures you wish to edit, we will help identify the artist(if unknown yet) and find their "home sites" for you.

Well, I've already begun uploading my art, but I don't (yet) have anything relevant to upload here on e621.

Just practice sketches of inanimate objects for a while.

Uhh, what are you planning to "edit" from the pictures again? Because from my own experience knowing artists, many of them don't appreciate alterations to their work and only some allow minor changes.

But anyway, here's the links to the artists(most active ATM) home pages.

*http://poprocksnsfw.tumblr.com/ (<-- recently someone asked about editing/coloring, the artist said ok but no alterations of the pic is to be had)

You will need accounts for FA, tumblr & dA to send them notes.

On FA & dA, click on the "Send a note" while Tumblr as "Speak up if you like" to ask them questions.

For Longinius' picture of Rainbow Dash, I'm planning to make the lingerie rainbow colored.

I was originally going to post a picture of Poprocks' that was altered so the piercings were removed, but now I can't do that, unless He gives me permission to alter it.

For CorruptedDiscipline's image of Pinkie Pie, I was going to post an edited version of it which is animated.

And finally for Scappo's image of Princess Celestia I'm planning to edit in a bit of magic using for hypnosis because as I've said, I have a massive hypno fetish.

Hmmm.. seems like they won't change too much from the original art.

Well, good luck on asking for the permissions!

...Why? Why would anybody use that site as a "home page"? Of all sites, WHY FURAFFINITY? You know what I've come to know that's so bad about it? First off, The tagging is horrible and badly named! And above all else, there isn't even a BLACKLISTING system on that site! I have standards for stuff like that! I don't want to see a bunch of ponies sh**ting in diapers let alone Sh**ting in general, or satanic things or even FUCKING Simpsons porn and even if I use the tag that it should be to stop seeing those images, there's STILL stuff that has the exact same thing just worded differently!

Because it was the first furry site to get hugely popular, and the relatively massive userbase is loathe to move. For artists, they stay where the commissioners are. For other users, they stay where the artists are.

It's a hard to break cycle. Other sites are trying to break in, like Weasyl, SoFurry, and Inkbunny, but they haven't really caught on. SoFurry seems to be having the best luck, but their userbase is paltry in comparison to FA's. BadDragon is also trying their hand at it with FurryNetwork, and already doing an admirable job to accommodate artists there. I'm hoping the BD site will really take off since it's got some great backing and leadership through proven leaders in the furry community (IE Varka). And, I won't lie, I've been using it lately and see a lot of promise. I'm currently designing a banner to go up there just because I hate having a black bar of boringness xD

k. thats all I found

Is it perfect? No. But I like it anyway :3 armor design suggestions noted, but subjective preferences ignored because its my thing. I think I'll retool it a bit, I agree that the armpits and hands could use work, but other than that it won't change too much.
It's science-fantasy power armor, BTW, just designed to resemble medieval plate mail.
