Sounds to me like it's just a conditional DNP now instead of a free-to-post thing, though I'm can't tell if that means only commissions are fine or only non-tumblr stuff or stuff without certain characters...

He already talked to one of us. He's off the DNP list completely

So if I get his fa journal it's more of a "avoid upload spam" thing.

What about the previously deleted pictures? Won't they prevent reuploads? Assuming it's not his specific wish these pictures indeed not be reuploaded, that is.

admins can undelete them. the images are still here in the database but you just cannot access them

Only 0.62% of uploaded images are permanently destroyed. Over 12% are "deleted" but can be restored by the admins.

I was actually there when this happened, he was DNPed after someone posted 1000+ pictures made by eroborus, they literally clogged up the /pokemon tag and I couldn't see any other posts unless I blacklisted. Normally posting images are fine, but this guy got so carried away and posted EVERYTHING, like seriously, 99% of the posts that were posted were trash junk sketch posts, which in my opinion have no business on this site.

imo, that kind of incident can stand as an example of what not to do when you have a huge amount of stuff to upload. (929 left to go... :/)

filter out all the dupes and low quality "bad" pics beforehand and upload in small quantities (like 20 at a time as i do) and don't simply upload them all at once. do that and you lower the risk of complaints, flooding the site, and the chance of getting neg records in the case of quality in particular.

hmmm...i forgot the username but iirc the guy who caused the "erobus incident" wound up with neg records and a massive neg upload limit (like, -1000+).

If you would have filtered out all "bad" quality pics you would have stopped uploading that guy's scraps months ago.

i literally ended up blacklisting this artist because of the spam

opinion and worse quality things have been uploaded (mspaint or pics done with what appear to be markers) here and approved. not my fault not everyone dislike that stuff. also, i don't upload that stuff that often anymore. maybe once a month or 2 if that often.

That's precisely my upload tactic. 20-30 images every other day.

And when I tag, I alternate with my uploading days, and try to aim for a minimum of 2,000 tags.

I do tend to take Sundays off though.

Even when I go on upload spree, I tend to get distracted easily, so it's rarely all the same artist, and even so, I take enough time to do detailed tagging (I consider my tagging weak if I can't put 20 tags on a porn picture XD) that even if I were to upload 50+ pictures in a row it wouldn't flood the front page. Plus I'm careful about not uploading the junkier stuff.

Mass uploading the same artists' works has always seemed risky to me.
Even when you have the permission from the artist to do so. Because they might change their mind someday... and then you'd end up with a lot of deletions and reduced upload limit.

Oh, they have already. That's how I got promoted to Privileged in March, thanks to NotMeNotYou.

I'm aiming for Contributor now. Though I feel as though that rank will elude me unless I upload quality art of my own. And as I'm practicing drawing various things (eyes, ears, mouths, noses, postures, hands, feet, wings, tails, chests, breasts, butts, genitalia, etc), I can see myself making a name.

Maybe I'll even follow Ratte's foootsteps and become Admin. I'd love to be one someday.

So are the old post supposed to stay deleted. Because i see a lot of low quality repost of his work.

They are supposed to stay deleted if they have been deleted before, otherwise we would have restored them.
