No, Every bear is an Ursine, every ursine is a different type of Bear. This includes things like the Polar Bear and Giant Panda.

It's still the same thing. All bears are ursines, all ursines are bears.

Ursine: Of, relating to, or resembling bears.
You can have an Ursine body structure while not being and actual bear.

Nothing's going to get tagged ursine that isnt a bear.

There's three things tagged giant_panda, and I'm also pretty sure these aren't even tagged right.

I think the primary source of confusion here stems from whether e621 considers ursine to refer to the family Ursidae or the genus Ursus. The members of Ursidae are what people generally call bears, but the family includes some exotic genuses like Ailuropoda (Giant pandas), Helarctos (Sun bears), Melursus (Sloth bears), and Tremarctos (Spectacled bears) in addition to the more traditional bears found in Ursus (Black bears, Brown bears, Grizzly bears, and Polar bears).

If we decide that the ursine tag means Ursidae, then it should alias to bear; if we decide that it means Ursus, however, then it should only imply bear.

Well, all three of them do have giant pandas as the main subject. Other tags on them might not be correct, but I didn't check for other tags.

It should really be the other way around, any type of BEAR tag should be implicated to Ursine {Ursus} just as all canine subspecies and feline sub-species relate to their respective Genus
