I would like a translation for this. I checked the rules, and I don't know if it's against the rules to ask for something like this. If it is, I'm sorry. I really like this post and I would love to see it translated. How would I go about asking for a translation properly?

certainly not against the rules as that's what the translation_request tag is for. iirc it also applies to foreign artist name translations too. (like japanese from pixiv)

edit: huh *looks closely* o.O tails? what are you doing there? guess i should go ahead and add his character tag to that pic and check if hes in any other pics in that pool too.

edit2: mmm... i'll finish this later whenever i wake up. probably wouldn't have even bothered adding the character tag if i hadn't noticed that little logo up in the top left corner of a good number of those pics but color does tend to stand out on monochrome pics. even if it's just a tiny little logo.

Please don't. That's just The Yiff Gallery's logo. I don't think anybody searching for Tails is looking for it...

You will just have to wait for someone to translate that. Although I managed to only translate the first sentence.

I've found a great tool to get the text out of the pictures, it's called ABBYY Screenshot Reader. It can accurately get the text out but with the limitation as to how it's written(text clouds are ok, but the more crudely written text is illegible).

I have managed to translate the whole thing(loosely via Google Translate) but it still needs to be checked.

Nice, I'll have to look into that. The text you posted wasn't perfect, but it was close. It had one kanji wrong and some confusion over つ vs. っ and や vs. ゃ.

Sorry, I'll have to pass on this one. I'm trying to focus more on improving my Japanese than translating right now. And when I get back to translating, that comic is probably about 3rd to 5th place in my priorities. You could try asking Wous if you want.

Do you know of any free alternatives that aren't mobile?

If you google Japanese OCR, you can find a bunch of them, but I'm not sure any of them work well except the Google Translate app (mobile, doesn't work well with vertical text) and ABBYY Screenshot Reader (~3 month trial period, then $30). None of them work perfectly, even in good conditions.
