Topic: Sets and private favorites list

Posted under General

Just to clarify and be sure I read the sets help page right, I can create set and use that as a private favorites collection right?

Yup, that's exactly what sets are for.

Thanks for the responses guys!

Why can't we make our favorites list private anyways?

Because your proper "Favorites" list is used to show the uploader/artist that you appreciate their artwork.

I like this answer. '.')b

Alright, how can I move my entire 'favorites' collection to a set? I've tried tinkering with the modes and it seems like it will be one-by-one page-by-page. If there isn't an alternative method I think its safe to assume I'll be doing the same to delete the images from my favorites?

Go into your favorites, and then use the "Mode" dropdown menu to select "Add to Set." You can then use that same dropdown to select "Remove from Favorites."

Kind of curious, though: Why keep your favorites a secret?

No reason really, but is it anyones business what my favorites are exactly? I could download them to my computer but I like finding them more through our system of tags.

I'm also figuring out that sets have a size limit of 65 it seems like?

That's odd, set #3373 over four hundred posts.

Hmm, my set has 318 but whenever I add the 65th post to the set the oldest post disappears and there are no pages coming up at the bottom regardless of the mode I'm in.

Does it work if you search "set:your_set_name_here -some_tag_that_no_picture_has_here"? I thought I read something about servers caching posts per page, and that bypasses the cache. I can't find the post though.

Well that seems to bring up a second page, still "set:set_name" gets that limit of 65.

They don't have any upper limit that I'm aware of, but if it's showing up that way it's either a bug (most likely) or the site just hasn't caught up yet.

If it's still showing up like this, do you mind inviting me as a maintainer temporarily so that I can take a look at it? If you prefer it to stay private that's fine too, just let me know and I can try to replicate it myself.
