The way I tell my friends about it is by saying "Yeah, I help out on a certain art hosting site." I don't say any more details, but I heavily imply that it can be explicit. If they inquire any more, I tell them there is some porn involved, that it's a niche site, somewhat closed community, etc etc. I've even shown my profile page to a few friends.

Of course this all depends on social grace, so your mileage may vary.
