Topic: Save the Bees!

Not sure how many different foods they make.
Mostly honey.

Unless you eat beeswax, or bees.

They're pollinators.

Fortunately, I'm not a vegetarian.

Fair enough, but,
A: Commercial farms don't generally rely on natural pollination.
B: Bees aren't the only animals that are pollinators.

Also, I don't eat many fruits or veggies, so still not responsible for many foods I eat...

Edit: FYI, I don't mean to come off as anti-bee, I'm not, I <3 honey.

Most farms already manually pollinate(generally with machines) to prevent accidental cross pollination.

And I feel it bears mentioning again, I am pro-bee.
I just also feel that arguments should be valid.

Let's stick with "honey is awesome, save the bees"

Furthermore, bees are stupid and they sting and they make stupid noises. I say, let them die.

They usually don't sting unless you're being stupid.

Wasps, now, wasps can go burn in hell.

Wasps are the real assholes, they don't even make honey or none of that other tasty shit, they just sting you and laugh in your face.
FUCK wasps.

All insects and arachnids should be exterminated. Crustaceans too.

The animals you nibble on would need the bees to pollinate many of their foods, thus the bees are responsible for the foods you eat, albeit not as directly as it is for an herbivore.

From what I understand on this topic (and I've seen it elsewhere before) bees are pretty damn important! Like, even beyond making honey or crops, they're a cornerstone of many ecosystems.
And yes, we're currently dangerously low on em!
However, last I heard the situation is improving. They could still use some boosting, but they're on the rise again after a pretty severe slump.

I'm not sure exactly if e6 is the core demographic of bee enthusiasts :V but it's a worthy cause none the less.

I think we can all agree, fuck wasps.

Yes, people walk around with sprayers generally.
They're using a hand held machine to manually pollinate.

To be completely accurate, even using a brush to pollinate by hand is using a machine since a brush is a lever which is a simple machine.

My god, every animal is equally important! Some species like bees have bigger affects, but still... a species going extinct has grave effects.

All I'm saying is, B.Sting probably has other motives to save the bees besides pollination.

Newp, if panda bears went extinct there would be no noticeable effect on the environment/nature, aside from the obvious lack of panda bears.

Definitely wrong. Well, it depends on what end of science you believe. The general fact is that ecosystems are heavily dependent on balance, especially between predators, prey, and producers. Since pandas are the primary consumer of bamboo, the population of bamboo would skyrocket if pandas were to go extinct. The only reason this might not be noticeable is because there already is an abundance of bamboo (since it is the fastest growing plant).

They don't really put a noticeable dent in the bamboo population as it is now.
Them going away wouldn't significantly affect bamboo.

afaik, pandas are not are not classified as a keystone species in any capacity. They're just cute, unlike honey bees.
