At the very least it would be nice to use wraps as a reference page on the wiki for what types there are. I'll put this on my to-do list and monitor this thread for ideas.

As for the implications, I don't know how useful the implications would be since they serve such varied purposes. I also don't know the purpose of having wrist_wraps vs just hand_wraps and would consider an alias to keep down on confusion.

There's also chest_binding or chest_wrap which seems to be popular with certain characters, but it's generally undertagged from what I've seen. I only mention this because it seems like it is related to me but I'm not exactly sure what it is for.

I suspect the line that's hard to draw is between wrist and arm because people are using wrist_wraps for anything between the hand and up to the elbow. That one should probably alias to arm_wraps.

Specific types of wraps in general are undertagged judging by a quick look at wraps.

Yeah, the only specific type in wide usage is tail_wrap, which you can almost entirely blame me for. I probably tagged over 400 of those. :P

I prefer a philly_steak_wrap, or a gyro.

Basically it's closest to "hero".
Although that's not quite it either.
Just don't pronounce it like the first half of gyroscope, those people are dicks.

Think of the monetary unit, the Euro.

Now instead of pronouncing it like that, pronounce it "year-o".

As said in the other thread, the tail_wrap tags still has the problem of being tagged for posts where something is wrapped around something. And bound_tail often gets tagged for wraps.

I tried to keep those clean for months, but eventually gave up because of the volume of the posts.

Now a lot of posts such as these are tagged as wraps:
post #841390 post #492018 post #375115

And then there's posts such as post #375950, where I can't even figure out why it has the tail_wrap tag in the first place.

What should the tail wrapping around something be tagged as? coiled_tail?

post #492018, the middle one, should be coiling (and restrained). Third is close enough to entwined_tails that it'd probably fit there. Not sure about the first. We might not have any other tag for that, which is probably why those get tagged as tail_wrap.

And yes, prehensile_tail applies to most of those.

Edit: Searching for something like scalie tail_wrap -equine finds a good chunk of the mistags.
