Topic: Why was dog-bone added to the dnp?

Posted under General

I rarely post anywhere and usually prefer to stay an observer, but this really caught me by surprise so... Could someone from up the chain maybe clarify exactly what happened when all of dog-bone's art was removed from the site?

The explanation on the artist tag writes "Left FurAffinity following some sort of Drama/Disagreement with Admins/Misc Fiasco Involving Pictures from Google and Art Theft Witch Hunters. Consequently, her entire FurAffinity Gallery has been totally cleared. Nothing to see there." which is all rather vague and doesn't really account for the nuked e621 collection. I'm assuming she requested it removed, but was any reason given as to why? On another note, would it be possible to have it all back if she ever changes her mind?

Deleted images can be restored if the artist requests to be removed from the DNP list, to my understanding.

I don't know why Dog-Bone left, so I can't help you there, but I've seen enough of these sorts of threads that I would like to make the humble plea in advance for everyone to remain civil here. It seems like whenever an artist requests DNP status a certain set of people tends to be very hostile, so... Well, honestly it's not like this plea is going to change that, but I figured I'd at least try.

You might be interested in seeing takedown #4128: it had to do with paysite image leaking.

Might it be true that it was partially because of the insults, that'd only grow my disapproval of people making waves on artists their creations.
I've seen it countless of times, awesome artists withdrawing their content from e621 because some people just always want to vent their spleen over everything they dislike or deem imperfect.

Well I followed the link to her Patreon and now I'm even more confused... The post from February (here) states that only her Patreon images will be marked as conditional_dnp, and the rest will stay where they are. So the question now is: Was it a miscommunication or has something changed?

The only thing that matters to us is any direct communication of the artist with us. They asked specifically to have everything with their tag on it deleted, so it got deleted.

Char actually tried to reach out to dogbone on this, since everything else by them said they only wanted a specific DNP status, but hasn't heard back AFAIK.

Wow you're right, Dog-Bone said different things on the takedown request ("Please remove anything of mine ... where anything that gets tagged automatically gets deleted") and the Patreon update ("anything made for patrons will no longer be posted on e621 ... some things that aren't Patreon specific will still be posted on E621").

I think there may have been some miscommunication from Dog-Bone. I think you should check with them, then message an admin to restore certain posts. I've had success in doing this by being polite to the artist and mentioning how much I liked their work.

So as it stands at the moment, there's no gallery of her free stuff anywhere public? Or was it set to only be visible when you're a patron?

Well, her stuff is still available Rule34.xxx and FurryBooru. Rule34.xxx apparently has a bit more of her art than FurryBooru. Also, the ImageBoard Search Engine allows you to conveniently view all of the "deleted" image files from e621 with a direct link to the image.

I doubt she'd be okay with that if she knew, but I don't know if the owners of the other two sites care as much about what artists feel as e621's. I know I've seen a topic by an ashamed artist requesting the removal of their art from FurryBooru never be addressed by anyone other than someone telling them that their art is good, but I have seen the admin state in another topic that they do a run through the deletion requests monthly.

exhentai.org >.> 596 pics. how many did rule34.xxx have? of course theres no way of knowing which of those on exhentai is paid content and which isn't.

I should probably find a way to fix that. :/

I completely forgot that western artists have their galleries uploaded to the E-Hentai Galleries. I usually have it disabled because most of it is gallery collections, which are usually much more easily searched elsewhere. Among the many improvements I feel that website could have, I think a Western Image Set category would help it out a lot.

uh, dude, there is a western category. it's right up at the top with all the other filter buttons.

Did you completely miss the words "have it disabled" and "Image Set" in my post? Eastern Asian artists have their own category for gallery rips under "Image Set", three separate categories for manga, and two separate categories for CG sets while everything from Western artists is lumped into "Western" regardless of whether it's a comic book, CG set, or a general rip of the artist's gallery.

excuse me for making a mistake when reading.

people are so easily annoyed and/or angered these days. one mistake... :/

Maybe I'm losing my mind or I'm just seeing this type of thing happen way too often, but I could have sworn that she took all of her art on Inkbunny down not too long ago. If she did, when did she add it all back?

The oldest piece of art on there is 2 years 11 months, so either she added stuff back then, never deleted them, or only deleted some.

Got deleted, new stuff uploaded, but she stopped uploading entirely (except for patreon advertisements) so that people need to pledge on patreon to get access to anything new.

According to the Terms of Service, the conditional DNP is "Only the commisioner is allowed to upload it."

I didn't see that in Terms of Service. Where are you looking?

The Condition DNP section of Avoid Posting List gives what the conditions are for each artist on the list. Some say that only work from certain places is allowed, some only the artist (or commissioner) can upload, and some have restrictions on image content.

Even there I don't see any blanket explaination for the term.

On her patreon page, she posted it two days after she requested a DNP here.

Ah, I see. But the situation here is that their take-down request to e621 says everything. So it doesn't matter what it says elsewhere unless artist changes their guidelines directly with admins here.

FYI, since we seem to have reached a definite conclusion here (she thinks she's on conditional DNP but is actually on unconditional DNP), I've PMed her on InkBunny, which hopefully will prompt her to straighten things out one way or the other.
