Topic: Do edits of deleted posts get deleted?

Posted under Art Talk

One of the images I edited got flagged for deletion for being pay content, and I flagged the edit accordingly. I was curious if this always applies though.

Does it depend on the reason for deletion of the original? If the edit was significantly different, could it be consider a separate piece?

First, you may wish to remove that link, but I don't know that site, nor the rules on it. Second: deleted imagery are not actually deleted, it appears. They are hidden from the public, but you can still find them via status:deleted or by viewing a person's deleted posts. Paid content gets undeleted by two years.

This is one such example. It is still on site, but "deleted".

Wait which link? The booth.pm one? I was just copying it over from the flagger's comment on the original picture. Don't see anything particularly wrong with it

Like I said, don't know how that site works. If the commenter removed their comment, it might be smart to hide and repost without the link, but (again) I don't really know the context on all this.

Just looks like your average art shop to me. All the situation is that you can see the original picture in a preview of a paid item there, and that item's less than two years old. I'm not salty about potentially losing the edit, since I should've sourced the original in the first place. Just curious about the rules

If we turn this thread into specifics, I found two previous edits of the original picture: post #903427 post #982533. Anyone know if these get flagged for deletion too?

You could search edit status:deleted ischild:true and check the deletion reason on each post to see if any paysite edits were deleted. However, I'd be on the safe side and assume "no", because even if it was technically allowed by site rules, the artist could still file a takedown.
