Topic: I messed up

Posted under General

So, I was adding the larger_dickgirl tag by pasting "larger_dickgirl dickgirl_penetrating" into the posts at dickgirl -larger_dickgirl and eventually ran into post #846983 where I started adding all sorts of relevant tags. Since that post had three versions, I copied all my added tags and pasted them into those posts.

Then I when back to the posts at dickgirl -larger_dickgirl and started pasting the tags in my clipboard, totally unaware of the tags I added from post #846983. After a while I realized my mistake and I facepalmed really hard.

Can an admin out there revert my edits from post #784992 and onward, unless there is a way for me to revert them myself?

On the right hand column, go to Tags under History, click on the area where you performed your tag edits, scroll down and click Undo.

I fixed post #784992 for you doing that.

Since new tags appear at the top of the edit history It's pretty easy to fix for yourself.

1. Have this wondow open in a seperate tab: https://e621.net/post_tag_history?user_id=199889

2. One post at a time, copy all the correct tags (from the next post after the last tag with a green arrow) and open the post with the link on the left (the post's ID)

3. Open the tag edit window for the post and delete all tags and paste in the ones you just copied from the last page.

This will restore all the tags that were on the post before you made your edit without having to look for every last one on each post.

All you have to do is do this same thing for every post you need to fix.

Wow, that's even more handy. Thanks! :D

Ah! For some reason I assumed that was an admin only tool so I've never tried it! (facepalm)

So, yeah, just do what GM said! lol

I learned that trick recently when I seldom find myself manually tagging so quickly that I accidentally delete every other tag. It saves me the trouble of retyping it all.

I've been working to try to hide links to tools that you can't access to avoid this sort of mindset (because I thought the same thing at first).

If you happen to find any that I missed, let me know. :)

I created a pool for something I already made one for last year but am unable to delete nor revert the creation of it or any other changes with the "Revert" link. Were those functions intended to only be used by those with elevated accounts?

Before this topic, I would have just assumed that Members were never intended to do these things, but now my inability to do so just seems inconsistent.

Members used to be able to delete their own pools (it was one of those undocumented things that made more sense before sets were available), but I set it so that now only mod+ can delete them. Since they are primarily used for comics, it seems to make sense leaving it this way for now.

At some point I want to add a report pool link for this sort of thing (and to report vandalism/improper pool use), but for now you need to get in contact with a mod in order to delete it.

(I went ahead and deleted that pool btw)
