Topic: New upload treated like a repost

Posted under General

I was posting some older art from Zen here on his FA when a big red bar of 'This post was deleted by Riversyde. Reason: Repost of parent' appeared on the page of deleted post #58927.

Problem is, it's not a repost of the parent. The parent of that image is post #11829 from 2005, which Zen retouched with more detailed shading in 2007. It's effectively an edit that showcases how the artist has improved over that timeframe.

Is there anything that could be done about this? I'd like to still upload the image if at all possible.

Usually if a post was improperly deleted, you can pm the admin in question with explanations as to why the image should not have been deleted, and they will undelete.

seems like a mistaken flag to my eyes.

the newer one looks different enough to have been marked as a child post to the older version. it's significantly different overall and much more detailed.

maybe ask an admin if they'd compare the 2 versions and see if the flag could be reversed?

also @riversyde, nice upload limit: 2147483647 + (3634 / 10) - (221 / 4) - 0 = 2147483955

The one who deleted the image is now a Contributor, and their last upload was at least 3 years ago. Since I have no other means of gauging their activity, I'm assuming they're either on hiatus or left for good.

Thank you two for the advice. I'll try to contact a different admin as per treos's suggestion via personal message, since there does not appear to be a ticket field for post-related issues like these. I appreciate the prompt and civil response. :)

I restored the image.

Welp, I missed this and sent Parasprite a personal message. Thank you either way.
