Topic: Nothing I post is good enough for e621...

Posted under General

Most of what I'v put up here (and on other accounts) gets rejected as "not meeting minimum standards" (and not even telling me why). I see pencil sketches here and my best attempts gets rejected hours after putting it up. So I'm a lousy artist not good enough for this "e(lite)621 site. I give up. There's FA and DeviantArt and they at least post my "junk". At least it's all been taken down here (at my request) so you don't have to ruin your eyes to look at it. I'll just look at others' good stuff here I guess...

Media doesn't matter, application and skill do. If a pencil sketch looks good, it gets accepted, but not despite the media.

Just keep working at what you're doing and continue trying to improve.

Practice makes perfect, from one aspiring artist to another.

I'd recommend looking up reference materials or reading a few books regarding anatomy and drawing techniques.

spoilers: e6 is not a personal image gallery where every single image is allowed. this is more like a library but for furry art. libraries dont accept "books" that are just a bunch of papers glued together and the story is like a sloppy draft with full of typos or if its like it was written by a 12 years old. but they will accept the books from this same artist when their books actually fits to the library

A wiki for furry art.

But otherwise that's spot on. I would even advise against posting your own art to e6, for the same reasons you don't post your own research to Wikipedia. FA, DA and similar sites are better suited for that.

I would clarify, there's nothing wrong in posting your art to e6, BUT keeping self critique in check and only upload stuff that can be considered quality artwork. And not getting angry if your stuff is removed by being low quality and instead taking that as feedback, you were also saved from tons of mean comments as well.

And even if/when your art is good, having account on any other site, was it fa, tumblr, sofurry, twitter, inkbunny, patreon, etc. is really good thing for multiple reasons. There are couple of artists who only and only post here for some reason, so following them is near impossible for one thing.

What reasons would those be? With Wikipedia, it's about objective verification of non purely logical information.

Attribution, same as with Wikipedia. The only image I see has no source links whatsover, which means e6 is used as the "primary source". That's wrong. Too much editable stuff here.

With proper source links, that would be just self-promotion. Kinda meh. Probably ok if done in moderation, but that's what happened apparently, he got moderated.

Well, not until you are certain it's good enough. Make sure you get proofing beforehand, be paranoid that it might not be.

To be honest...

...comics are a type of books.
