I remember seeing this functionality on e621 before. Why was it removed? So people can't spew hate/drama and then remove it or...?

In any case. I'd like to be able to remove my comments, or just wipe all my previous comments if possible.

You could never delete your comments, only hide them. And that functionality still exists.

At best, if you can't edit your comments after five minutes, you can ask an admin (such as NotMeNotYou) to edit the comment for you.

Although when they do that, it's seldom at the request of others because the comment is negative and they're usually reprimanding the user as a result.

actually there was once option for regular users to delete their comments

idk when the option to delete comments was removed but there indeed was option to delete own comments at least in 2011

You can turn that off via the settings of your account.
