how do i upload my first picture for my profile?
that's what i need to add. so i'd like to know how do i do that please.

i'm very much new to it and i'm confused with the site. so some assistance would be nice.

You can't upload pictures just for use as an avatar.
However, you can use any picture on the page as your avatar, simply find a picture you'd like to use and click "Set as avatar" on the left of the image under "Options".

oh okay. i was curious if it's allowed. well, i'd like to know generally that uploads of works is defined by digital to other works etc etc such as 3D are allowed? so i'd like to clarify this before i upload.

As long as the image you want to use as avatar falls within what e621 accepts to stay, it's alright.

You could use the e621:uploading page as a checklist.

figured out how to respond lol. the avatar i want to use is actually one of my favorites, Werewolf Korra. from what i can see on search, here is no Werewolf Korra.

Protip: post \#892606 becomes an automatic link for you. You can also do thumb \#892606 to get a thumbnail to show up.

@RealKorra: What Furrin said. Plus, you posted a duplicate. You can check for dupes with e621's harry.lu, but you probably won't be using it for now.
Back on track, post #892619 is the one you're looking for. Copy that number (without hash) and put it under My Account -> Settings -> Avatar -> Avatar post ID

Well they didn't really post a dupe, it's just that someone uploaded a better quality.
