Try uploading that again, but give the error message this site may provide. Unless it keeps crashing to a white screen, it should give something like "it's dead, Jim", and provide you the error code.

i tried uploading it like 5 times, but it just keeps giving the same message.
"Error: Sample couldn't be created: Unsupported color conversion request"
It doesn't give me any error codes either.

This image is: JPEG/JFIF, CMYK
The others here are: JPEG/JFIF
Maybe e621 doesn't like CMYK format.

image magik should be able to do handle CMYK

It does. convert lucasimage.jpg foo.png produces an output that appears to be correct.
Of course I don't know what exactly else gets involved in the sample generation process.

We don't use imagemagick though. (what are we, FA? ha ha ha hah... eh)

What, you use GMIC ;) ? Would be the first site I've seen that's actually in the 21st century ;)
(Seriously though, using imagemagick/graphicsmagick to convert files that your main system doesn't understand to files that it does, isn't bad. At least a few image viewers take that approach.)
