Topic: Your personal favorite iPhone game(s), and would you suggest 'em?

Posted under Off Topic

While I think the topic header says it all, allow me to hit the head on the nail a couple more times. What is your favorite iPhone game? I wish you do not suggest paid ones, but that does not me you can't say it's your favorite. However, do not think I'll just pick 'em up as you say them, I'm starting to believe iPhone games honestly suck. Feel free to say "no shit" to that.

As for me, I have not experienced many "good" ones that aren't from a PC (Terraria or etc.), since the ones I pick up usually has forced PvP, which is a massive turn-off for me.

Now, random ass topic, GO!

Back when I used an iPhone I played this neat guitar hero copy that was free, had a pretty large number of songs on it, and if you desired more tracks to play than the free ones you could buy additional songs separately, for a tiny amount, or buy a whole album.

Think it was called Tap Tap Revenge.

Edit: "The game's reception was generally positive, and it became the most downloaded free game of the App Store for 2008.

The game was followed by Tap Tap Revenge 2, Tap Tap Revenge 3 and Tap Tap Revenge 4.

Via a post on their Facebook page, as of January 2014 the game has been removed from the App Store by owner Disney and it no longer plans to support the game."

Those sequels are probably still available tho.

NO SHIT!

Invest in a dedicated gaming system, like a PS4 or a Nintendo 3DS. A surplus library of great games to choose from either. And if you already have one for gaming, then this is redundant.

That being said, the only mobile games I've played were Gameloft's MLP game (never paid a cent), Minecraft: Pocket Edition, the FNAF and Zenonia series.

You're better off emulating older games onto your iphone.

I do use a PC, but that's irrelevant.

Wouldn't emulating games off an iPhone require jail breaking it? Or, some method to "play" the game? Animal Crossing does require the use of buttons and a D pad. Care to link me to a safe site? I obviously won't trust google or yahoo to find one for me.

I used to play Tap Tap a lot. It was a pretty fun time waster.

There are emulators to older Sony and Nintendo systems that you can look at through the app store. As for actually downloading the games to said systems, you're on your own. They're easy to google up though.

Edit: Oh, and as for the best way to control those kinds of games, I'd recommend this bluetooth controller.

One Piece dance battle if you can get a Japanese account. Also, most if not all of Adult Swim's games are good like Amateur Surgeon and Monsters Ate my Condo.

Oh, and Robot Unicorn Attack. If you download a Flash player you can also play Nimin Fantasy and Corruption of Champions on your phone.

Most Kairosoft games are good.
My favorites are Game Dev Story (Game Dev Tycoon was a clone of that), Dungeon Village, Beastie Bay, Pocket Academy, Anime Studio Story, and Magazine Mogul.

I personally already have 3DS and Vita for playing games on go, which have lightyears higher quality games, with 3DS there's also emulators, so not playing with mobile that much. At least with android emulating is as easy as with PC, but again, touchscreen and would essentially require seperate controller.

There are tons of good games for mobile, but for me the problem is that majority of those games are also available to PC, so I normally just play them with that, especially when some of them require bit more control than touchscreen can offer. If game is released for windows phone, it's usually also downloadable from windows store on windows 8.1 and 10, still have asphalt 8 as I used that to test my testing software.

I do not own any iDevices, but I would guess that all games released on android are pretty much also available on apples platform. Problem is, that basically all that are free are usually also really bad, so all I know is the stuff that costs money. (I refuse to believe I have played sonic dash and temple run 2)

Here's some games I know are at least good

- Lara Croft GO
- Rayman Jungle Run
- Anomaly serie
- Canabalt
- Kingdom Rush
- Monument Valley
- The Room
- Thomas Was Alone
- Threes!
- VVVVVV
- World of Goo
- Stealth bastard deluxe
- Planst vs zombies
- Machinarium
- Devil's Attorney
- Shantae: Risky's Revenge
- Layton Brothers (because fucking sandwich murder)

Would also throw in some square stuff like TWEWY, but they have higher prices relative to everything else, I remember news about dropping support for some games and their stuff on steam doesn't look exactly the greatest.

uh...i might be able to help you with that...i'll send a PM about it shortly.

that aside, if anyone here is into the idle and/or incremental game genre then you might check Broken Mouse Convention every now and then.

edit: PM sent

Warhammer 40k: Freeblade. That is my all time favourite iphone game. Why? Because you play as a 15-meter tall mech with a CHAINSAW ARM. Stomping around in an Imperial Knight, shooting the crap outta whatever gets in your way. And if that fails, CHAINSAW ARM.

I would newer buy an iphone. It is only Status symbol. You can buy way better android devices for lower prices. So i don't have favorite games.

That reminds me, there's Yo-Kai Watch: Wibble Wobble and Kingdom Hearts Unchained X out as F2P titles on android/iOS. Don't know how good those two games are since I only downloaded them so far.

Then there's Miitomo, which is collecting dust for me.

Also part of the "no phone games" crew. I spend most of my time on it browsing instead. I'm more of a PC gamer instead.

That's the thing: I'm a PC gamer too, but there is only so much internet to browse before it becomes repetitive. Same thing is happening to iPhone games, and I'll reemphasis P V P! Minecraft gets fun on PC, but not without mods (can't go without Pam's Harvestcraft), Terraria sucks on a mobile because of jankie controls, some of the frees get grind heavy, others are ad-heavy, etc. so I'm raking my brain for something to enjoy, a "pick-up, put-down" game where you won't get penalized for not constantly playing.

But as I noticed an "old" idea, it might just be that I'd need a handheld over a mobile... If they had Animal Crossing for an iPhone, I'd pay for it hands-down.

I dunno how I feel about a F2P mobile Animal Crossing. Although it seems nice on paper, I fear that it's going to be yet another city builder. It might not, of course, but it seems possible.

Nintendo plans on making a F2P Fire Emblem game. That sounds interesting and will definitely get more mileage out of the hardcore gamers.

Pretty mainstream for a status symbol.
