If I recall correctly, it was causing bugs or issues relating to the post. Don't quote me on that, I always use E6 through a mobile, and I never noticed a bug...

They were too much of a performance issue to maintain for what they provided. It's on the list of things to add back in, but isn't a high priority right now.
