Topic: Can I upload pictures that are from Pintrest?

Posted under General

you can upload from where ever you want as long as its not recent pay content, dnp or otherwise against rules. but chances are that you will find better versions of the picture from artist's own gallery.

The one I just uploaded is from Pintrest, so this is the conditional reason on why I am asking this such question 32 minutes ago from this timeline.

Thanks.

It's fine to upload stuff from sites like Pininterest, but they tend to be smaller or compressed versions of stuff found on the artist's own galleries, so it could happen that someone uploads the superior version and deletes yours.

Also, if you know who the artist is, it's a good habit to include a source to their page (or even the post there) in your upload. The real page obviously, not Pininterest. Just polite, y'know, and convenient for others who maybe want to look up that artist's remaining work.

Thanks for the head ups.

Off-topic: it's Pinterest, not "Pininterest", - just trying to helpful, not rude. ;)

I added the source for you. In general, if the picture you want to upload is on a rehosting site, you should look for a source link or do a reverse image search.

However, I suspect this post is an edit of post #401254 (good catch, SnaWr. I did some research and found the original artist (links added to post #401254). They complain that this image has been stolen constantly since 2009.

So this post may get deleted for being an uncredited trace of another artist's work.

If you read the description of the picture, then you would've know that I did do a reverse image search, and besides, how do you know you have found the correct source?

...Wut. I've always read it as Pininterest somehow, what the devil is this witchery? :O

Oh well, thanks for enlightening me!

There was no description when I viewed your post and added the source.

It's hard to be sure that you've found the original source, especially when it's a random forum instead of an established gallery, but that's what the Pinterest post links to and I found no earlier versions via reverse image search.
