Topic: real porn

Posted under General

The avoid posting list prohibits "real porn / real images or videos depicting illegal activities (such as bestiality, child pornography, etc.)" Does that mean "real images or videos depicting illegal activities and real porn", or "real images depicting illegal activities and real porn depicting illegal activities"? In other words, is real porn that doesn't include illegal activities allowed? I ask in reference to post #55997, but in any case, it's probably worth rewording to avoid future misunderstandings.

i think it's pretty much clear, there is 2 things mentioned here:

-real porn whatever the medium
-real image or videos depicting illegal activities

for the case of 55997 there is a guy in a fursuit, so...

I don't understand what you're implying.

What's not to get?

It is a male human in a costume.
Take away the costume and what do you get?

A male human, of course, but I don't see why that's relevant. What's relevant is that he's a real human. I'm guessing that's what you and Zenti mean, but if so, your wording doesn't make that clear, since male humans are perfectly possible in drawn porn as well as real, and whether they're wearing costumes makes no difference either way. Besides, I thought it would be obvious from my original post that I pointed out the submission because it's real porn, in which case it wouldn't be necessary to explain that part to me.

I believe as long as its not plain old porn and in some way related to furry AND does not depict obviously illegal acts it is allowed here. Not sure if that helps answer your questions since I found it all a little confusing myself. For example, no actual cub porn, no actual bestiality, no actual plain sex. Drawn stuff is fine as long as its furry and fursuits as well since its furry related.

621 is protecting their legal hindquarters. In many US jurisdictions (as that's where the servers are located), the distribution of real pornography is illegal or severely controlled. On the other hand, drawn stuff falls under freedom of speech from governmental control (in theory, anyway) and thus operates under a more permissive legal structure. In short, e621 could easily get raked over the coals if it hosted real porn, but not over drawn stuff even if it portrays things that would be illegal if real.

(Note that I am not a lawyer nor very familiar with the laws in question, so my interpretation here may be wibbly-wobbly.)

Is it also a ball of legally-weaglly stuff?

18 USC § 2257 (f) (4) is probably the reason for the ban on real pornography, and things like post #55997 probably ought to go for legal ass-covery (in the interest of further ass-covery, I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice).

Edit: it is not, however, a ball of wibbly-wobbly legally-wegally stuff. It's a straightforward progression from the text of the laws to the words in my post.
