Every time I go to change my name because I hate my current one I get the Error "Error: Email has already been taken". Maybe I'm just being an idiot but I don't understand what is going on can someone please help me?

There's no email field in the form. If you're talking about username, it's probably already taken. Always run a search for the name before requesting a name to see if it's been taken.

Post a screenshot of the error or nobody will believe you, mang.

Are you attempting to create a new account? Can't have more than one account per e-mail.

Make sure you're using "My Account -> Change Username" if you just want to change name.
