Reason:

Currently implies lagomorph but a bunch of other *_humanoid tags imply the specific species, not just the category (bat, bear, dog, fish, sheep, skunk, wolf, etc).

okay, that's kind of a lot. So should none of them imply the specific species, only the category??

Is this so that searches won't find "rabbit" and "anthro" with anything that isn't an anthro rabbit, along with any other kind of animal?
This would be specific and convenient, but like you said, it would be a tremendous effort for changes.
I wonder what some staff members would say about this? They may think this is not necessary because most image searches are usually the anthro animal you're looking for. That is merely my guess, nothing more.

Personally I would feel a bit surprised to find a rabbit_humanoid when searching for rabbit, but maybe that's just me. Although people who don't know about rabbit_humanoid might like to search for rabbit humanoid, and hence wouldn't find anything if not implicated. That said rabbit humanoid is not even guaranteed to find you a rabbit_humanoid since you can have cat_humanoid and an anthro rabbit in a post and that query would find that.
