Topic: Troll/Griefer detected!

Posted under General

Seymourbonner (User number: 94660) has been flooding the site with troll images including goatse and gross 4chan pictures.

Proposal on troll prevention: Newly created accounts should be able to upload only 5 pictures per day and all pictures should be reviewed by a moderator before they can EVEN GET LISTED. If rejected, the moderator should be allowed to ban the IP or region.

I'm just going to go ahead and stop refreshing posts for a while

I somehow forgot about putting users on my blacklist. Thank you.
Wonder where the guy came from though.

I wonder how long it'll be until somebody creates furry versions of the well-known shock sites that could be posted here without being deleted. Half of the shock sites wouldn't even have a tag to go with them that could be blacklisted, so watching the reactions to it would be damn hilarious.

1. New users have to wait a week before posting
2. Admins are already reviewing new images posted on the site
3. It's impossibru to review an image that hasn't been posted yet
5. What if a user posted a troll image only once? You can't insta-ban someone for that unless the user continues to do so after a warning
6. I skipped 4 :p

1. Low effect. One can keep low profile, not comment and just wait it out.
2. But why mix newcommer and troll submissions with older and approved members?
3. Not Impossible... Add a flag that is enforced on any newcommer / troll submission to list those pictures in a sepparate section. I doubt this booru engine cannot support this degree of customization...
5. Sometimes, zero tolerance is more important... Specially in their first 5 images.
6. Everyone's brain totally skipped that number when reading, but not when typing. HAH XD

e6 doesn't tolerate trolling at all it's in the rules. Also, trolling is so obvious, even a blind dude can see it. And another thing, not every new user is a troll. To be honest, I rarely see any trolls that visit this site.
For 6 & 3.AIN'T NOBODY GOT TIME FOR DAT

1- Some don't have that much patience. Apparently, this one did... :/
2- You can search by status (make sure to read the cheatsheet as well):

status:pending for pending posts (blue border, newly uploaded)
status:flagged flagged for deletion (red border; unrelated, low quality, absurd reason, a newer and bigger version was posted, etc.)

3- TheHuskyK9 meant images that hadn't been uploaded...
5- Again, K9 meant that if the user continued to post unrelated images. Seymourbonner uploaded 33 images in 1 hour WTF! And they didn't even had the 4 tags minimum! They just had tagme. I am dissappoint
6- uh... something should go here but iDunno

Related to your first post, users can upload up to 10 (unapproved) images after the (1 week) wait. What do I mean with "unapproved"? Images that have a blue border, which mods have yet to decide if they stay or they leave

I can upload three to four times as many images than everyone in this thread combined if I choose to.
Don't mess with me! :D

You doubt my expertise? Or tony's? We can do whatever we want to with the software, the issue lays on do we want to or not..

Currently we have "status:pending", "status:active", "status:flagged" and "status:deleted" searches and I'm okay with them. But why we have "status:any", isn't it the same as just going to the Posts directly?

Deleted posts don't show up in results unless you explicitly search for status:deleted. But doing so means non-deleted posts won't show up. Therefore, status:any shows both deleted posts AND non-deleted posts. (This is mainly for mods, since users can't really do anything with deleted posts).

There it is. The status:deleted is surely "blacklisted by default" (I guess) so why not add status:pending as blacklisted by default for guests and members, to let only moderators see them and take the best course of action, while "already acceptable members" would have a different status in their submission to allow it being listed even while pending?

That would piss me the fuck off. I browse the site by using the search "id:>######" and I keep a note of what the highest number was the last time I did a search. I let my personal blacklist take care of stuff I don't want to see.

Being unable to see pending posts (when posts sometimes take days to be approved) would fuck this over completely. The only way I would not be upset over such a change is if I could immediately turn it off in my settings so I could see pending posts again.

You can add it your own blacklist. I'm not gonna add it to the default system. New users already have a ton of account restrictions
