Hello All, I'm WolfPack30156, been a lurker for a year or two, I've been tweaking my tag blacklist and I've had some success, but I wanted to have an area where I could ask some questions and see how others format their blacklist. [Seeing examples help me understand how it works. Yes the wiki page explains it, but I'm more curious how its used by others here on the website.]

If this kind of topic is already here I'm sorry I must've missed it with the tag-implications posts.

So with that stated, I'd like to share my blacklist, I'd recommend for anyone else to use the Section tags to help with the scrolling. :)

I'm curious at how your lists look, but if anyone could help me figure out the way so I can still see SFW male solo posts without having to see a bunch of nude males. Not that I'm against it, just I don't personally seek it.

You tried looking through help:blacklist? The Tag Operators and Ratings sections kinda go over those intricacies and look like they have answers to your request.

There's definitely some artists and fetishes I don't like that I forgot to blacklist, but here is my blacklist as of now.

I have, but I'm not sure if it works or not. I still see pictures of things I'd rather not, and I'm not sure if I'm missing a tag or something. Because I'd like to have a whitelist as well as a black list.

That's a good way of thinking about it.

In the blacklist I think what's confusing me is, the inverse of + is - but what's the inverse of "~"

Because in my logic in my black list, I was trying to blacklist anything hyper except for hyper_breasts

There's more I'm considering adding, but haven't felt like it.

To blacklist X unless it has Y, blacklist "X -Y". It would be a bad idea to let "X ~Y" do this, because then the blacklist would stop operating according to the rules of logic.

Incidentally, "X ~Y" blocks all posts that are tagged with X AND all posts that are tagged with Y.

Does nightmare_fuel ~solo ~solo_focus filter out "nightmare_fuel solo" & "nightmare_fuel solo_focus". I Also tried nightmare_fuel ischild:true but it removes all nightmare_fuel is that a bug or unsupported filtering in the blacklist.

I'd love to expand my blacklist(I put it in Page 1) but sadly I want to do tagging projects and that lowers my speed.
Otherwise probably I'd add:

rating:e
my_little_pony
gore -humour
vore -humour

I'd prefer a blacklist that just hiddes thumbs and icons.

Put a # before the lines like so:

#rating:e

#my_little_pony

#gore -humour

#vore -humour

Then delete/undelete them as needed. I use this as a way of turning on/off different areas of the blacklist for tagging projects without having to retype them all the time.

Something is fucky with the ~ operator and the blacklist. X ~Y should filter out everything that has the X tag as well as everything that has the Y tag (although I'm not sure why you'd want to do that instead of X and Y on separate lines, which does the exact same thing). Instead it seems to do nothing. To achieve your desired result, put "nightmare_fuel solo" and "nightmare_fuel solo_focus" on separate lines.

The blacklist generally doesn't play well with meta tags (tags of the form foo:X).
