I was looking for a comment that I wanted (The one that linked to the original pony picture on post #958143 ) but now that the picture got deleted, I really have no clue to where to get the picture and I really would like to get it.

Any way that I could get the link ? Maybe some really nice mod could tell me what it is if they're able to still see the comments

Using the comment search you can pull up comments based on post id.

What is the reason for hiding comments on deleted posts anyway? Seems fairly pointless and it might be beneficial to actually show the comments anyway, as evident. Also if a particular comment is unsuitable, the individual comment should be hidden/deleted, not all of them.

I've been thinking about suggesting a feature to somehow link comments from an old deleted post to a new post, but not sure how that would be handled properly.

Didn't they do that before, in the past? I remember when an image got "updated" old comments would go to the new one.

I'm pretty sure that old comments never got transferred over a new post (When a picture got deleted for a better version) Only favorites would, but not comments, and anyway there hasn't been an "improved" picture uploaded by this one user since. Hopefully e621 will realize that this dude actually traces over pictures before he manages to sneak in more pictures (His older profile has 99% of his uploads deleted for that reason and because of bad art)

Whoa, now, if he's using an alt to bypass the upload limit, isn't that against the rules?

I wouldn't think so because the admin gave him a negative knowing that he used a new profile to post pictures
