Topic: What would be in your (realistic) dream house?

Title should say it all, if you could have things, rooms, certain carpets, tiles, or wood, etc., what would you have? This can include things on the outside, house can be better interpreted as property. I parentheses'd realistic because certain things would be unfeasible; they'd just be a dream to have in the first place. For instance, having a gem-embedded ground floor (all of it) would be near-impossible to do, but a room to collect and display gems is much more realistic.

For me, I'd like:

a fruit farm

I personally love fruits. Eating, drinking, cooking, just the crazy assortment that you can have of them. Having a farm so I can add them to a variety of things would be great. It'd also be good for children, and animals (we have a feral rat that eats the oranges on our tree) that I'd like to keep. A bit more detail "why" below...

a bar (the kind where you'd drink)

I like to mix various flavors together. As with having my fruit farm, having a place to mix and keeping what I've mixed in its own seperate area would be great. I do not, however, like most alcoholic drinks. I'm a sweet drink person, not a bitter drink person, so my alcoholic choices are fairly limited; the stuff I've drank the most is Mike's Hard *fruit drink* or Not Your Father's *soda*. It'd also have my soda streamer, so I can actually have carbonated beverages again.

an armor, jewelry, & weaponry display room

A bit of my father's blood in me, but I appreciate weapons and armor, and one of my mental activities is to study how they work and what actions/weapons are good against X. I'd also love having various bangles, necklaces, rings, and all of the in betweens! But having, say, a forge in or near the house would not be wise, especially if/when I have children. I can probably find a person to commission from, but just a room to appreciate the art of metalworking would be fantastic.

Since I expect long lists, I'll tell everyone right now that you can use, without the periods, [.section= *desired words*] and [./section] to section off long-winded paragraphs.

Re-inforced concrete bunker, walls no less than three feet thick, main chamber located no less than twenty feet below the surface, a two inch thick steel entrance door, layered with two inch thick aluminum plating. A side chamber branching off the side of the main chamber, for a multi-fuel electric generator, water pump, MRE storage, armory, black smithery forge and anvil. And a side chamber for gaming.

I'd want a hidden room for weapons and armor. Although I got plenty of weapons and some armor already the hidden room is the important part because, when I was little my favorite thing in doom or any game I guess was looking for secret rooms. I think that's really fun for some reason and I might as well fill it with something I like.

Dudes, fucking move in with me. We'll be scooter brothers.

A semi furry pack house.
People living there are at least welcoming of me walking around with my Glock. That and they are caring descent like minded people.

Question? Does anyone here have anything to say about a pack house? Good or bad? I would like to here about it.

Hell, if anyone lives in the Nevada area I am currently looking for a room mate right now. My house is quite empty.

What's a pack house?

I'm fond of underground and hillside housing. They're cheap to build, and highly energy-efficient.

It'd have a proper underground greenhouse, of course. I used to have a small pit greenhouse, and it was both cheap and effective. Larger one would be absolutely amazing. Dunno why underground living isn't more popular. Except for the lack of windows, I suppose. But you can live without those.

Dark wood floors, indigo and gray paint, 3 stories including a basement, a big fireplace, lots of bookshelves, a quiet study, a roomy garage, dense woodland surrounding

ah seeing as how this is the first place I heard of a pack house I thought it might be a house of furrys or something like what patricks doing.

You know it's a good house if you can just take it and push it somewhere else.

Me, my house would have to be near water. Lake would be nice, but a stream or something is good too.

I Open carry a Remington 1858 Navy, .44 cal 'cap and ball' pistol, and a M1911 [depending on weather and feels] around my house and outside of my house. I'm very gun friendly, and very fur friendly. If I could find a fursuit maker who would incorporate a drop-leg holster into a fursuit, I'd throw all the money at them. You should move to Kentucky, we actually have trees! and grass! and it rains often!

mine would probably be rather fancy and hard to acquire. :/ and not really realistic expectations tbh. but you didn't say it had to be realistic.

i've always liked the idea of a subterranean home. reflective tile (checker pattern probably) flooring, smooth stone pillars (marble or something)...

either smooth or natural walling but with bits (or chunks) of crystals here and there so as to catch the light and give something of a glittering effect.

and...that's about as far as iever got as far as design goes. though i did happen to see a video of this one boss fight in dark souls 3 (tyrannicon's channel) on youtube that was real nice looking. ah, here it is. Sir Alonne's boss room. if i had access to a cliff side...that would look wonderful.

:/ you really don't see that kind of room design much in more modern games. the light coming through the windows, the reflective floor... it just looks great overall.

yeah...not exactly realistic expectations there. >.>

edit: hmmm...or maybe my interest simply lie within the realm of castles...

Just a two-story house with 3 bathrooms, 4 bedrooms, a dining room, living room, and a garage with driveway.

Basketball court, pool, and skate park in the back, big ol' lawn of fresh-cut grass in the front.

I don't need a mansion, just a nice place to invite people over and live comfortably

This might fall under "less than realistic" just due to today's difficulty of finding one on property that's for sale for you to build a home on, but a natural hot springs incorporated into the house's heating system would be nice; with a heat sink down in the ground to absorb heat and then pipe it up through the walls via closed circuit water like a reverse refrigeration system, probably in the parts of the house designated as "winter rooms" due to the lack of being able to turn it off (?). The hot springs itself of course would serve nicely for after-bath relaxation.

Some nice garden areas for fresh ingredients, perhaps with an outdoor kitchen of sorts for when the weather's nice (or my definition, cloudy days and light rain are perfectly acceptable to me). A root cellar. A workshop for electronic things. Room for a few of my friends to live in a sort of communal housing style, knowing me I'd likely prefer a hammock somewhere odd, hahaha.

Essentially, no bigger than it needs to be, efficient, reasonably comfortable, and definitely a ways from the noise of the world....though knowing me I'd long to visit the city at times for various urban adventures.

Perhaps you could look into what are called Earth Sheltered Homes? Some of them are closer to what I'm thinking of than others when you say subterranean home, and I can see the appeal and benefits when done right.

Let's see...
- A library containing as much knowledge on myths, legends, and the arcane as possible.
- A trophy room, complete with an authentic set of samurai equipment. ... that includes Tachi, Naginata, Masumune, and Muramasa.
- One whole room dedicated to Amaterasu.
- and a life size replica of CL4P-TP. Preferably with an integrated boombox.
- ... almost forgot my Kuratas assault suit [for the inevitable apocalypse... be it machines, zombies, or infernal.]

An underground bunker set up to be a good place to comfortably live for years on end. So if the Purge becomes a reality, I can retreat to that hidey-hole.

Also, a man-portable minigun (with plenty of ammo) and the strongest armor humanity has currently invented, for self-defense purposes.

An actual studio room. I'd love a place to dedicate to traditional art and ceramics. Maybe a small greenhouse.

Otherwise I'm not very picky aside from I would want a lawn that is left alone since I think it looks much nicer.

You can only have one or the other

They actually do exist. Recoil is intense (the shooter literally slides back with less than one second of fire), but burst fire is better than nothing.

Look up "man portable minigun" on YouTube and you'll see it. I can't get a proper link on the phone.

That's understandable.

I kind of like playing that way though, once you get to a certain point and have more than enough resources, you can forgive yourself for being wasteful. I also like the possible intimidation factor.

wow, so they really do make homes like that. yeah, that's definitely something to look into.

edit: looking here and the pros certainly do seem to outweigh the cons by a lot.

A cave house, one with good ventilation and not in an earthquake area and somewhere no one else knows about, in particular the housing rates department of the local council. ;-)

Oh, in it, yes. Space, lots of space. Not sure about furniture, a sofa, bed, shower, but de-cluttered space.

[color=GreenYellow]Well I have to perfect house ideas. I would live on a mountain with the same level of the or I would live on an island which would have the following things on it.

A water purificator
Solar panels and wind turbines and wave energy harvesters.
A biology lab
A vegetable and potato farm
Lot’s of fruit trees everywhere.
A server room with a lot’s of data and blueprints.(in a solarstrom proof room)
A libary.
A bunker under the island. (Atom and solarstorm proof)

  • An armory.

A pool with delfins which would be connected to the sea.

This island would be the perfect place for me. I would be independent from humanity, so if shit goes down I would be safe.

yeah, far as furniture and stuff goes i'm fairly simple myself. a good computer, decent internet (with absolutely NO bandwidth capping BS!), a tv, and video games (cangetmovies andstuff on the internet ;)) and that's largely it. well, that and some dumbbells for exercise and whatnot.
