That's where I used to go before I found e621, anyway some pictures I can only find there for some reason. So if I upload them here is it worth providing a source to rule34 it's kind of a dead end there.

It's better than nothing. Especially since some art is uploaded directly to R34 by the artist, and there's no other valid source.

I don't think this is official policy (and I'm sure as hell not the source of such policies), but if you do have another source (like artist's page) you should probably use it over any image board links.

Read goober, I said that is the only place I can find some images.

I said that because I've seen more than a few that had a image board as a source when there was an original source available, some times from the image board's page.

[edit] Though some have been both because of upload size limitations on the artist's own page, with the one on the image board being a larger version.

People in rule34 generally don't care about sourcing anything when they redistribute pictures, so sometimes you simply have no clue where the picture is/comes from even after doing some research yourself, so sourcing that you found it on rule34 is at least better than no source at all

bots are the usual culprits of not sourcing, but I have found sources via those sites.

I knew that bots were used for rule34.xxx but had no idea that was also the case for Paheal, the one I had in mind I was mentioning

Don't feel afraid to use that "Source Request" tag either if you only have a Paheal link
