Topic: Need clarification

So, people have been going around on 3D images claiming them to be screenshots and not straight up renders, and I insisted that SFM, DAZ, 3DS Max, Maya, Zbrush, etc are pretty much the main programs that people to use to render 3D images and animations. If this were the case, wouldn't that apply to 99% of the 3D stuff uploaded on here? I'm honestly confused as none of those programs are games, but just 3D software, no? There are thousands of posts of SFM, Gmod, etc on here, if they truly violated the rules, they never would've gotten approved.

From what I would understand, that would be about renders where default models, textures and scenes are taken from the game itself to make the picture. Some time ago I argued about some of these pictures and now that I looked into it, they seem to have been deleted sometime after. 3D renders of actually made models and scenes are what I would imagine are fine, and not taking off assets from actual games

Right, because the models are ported and created for SFM, etc specifically and never taken from in-game screenshots. What irks me is people accusing others of violating that rule without any substantiation to their arguments, flagging pictures, etc. I use SFM and the resources given freely available as long as credit is given, I'd never want to use screenshots from games like that. I just hope I didn't blow this for anyone wondering the same thing.
