Topic: Before creating an account on E621 how long did you just browse?

Posted under General

This question popped in my head not too long ago mainly because I created my account this year yet I have been using E621 since 2012 or 2013. But either way it has been a while since I actually discovered this awesome site filled with cool art and an easy to use interface!
So how long have you guys actually been browsing this site?

Updated by rgggfrtt

I browsed for quite a while before I actually made an account. 2 or 3 years I believe.

I used to browse here frequently 3-4 years back. Took a long break, came back, and made an account this summer.

Updated by anonymous

I found the site around 2010, registered at the end of 2012.

I found e6 around 2011 or 2012 I think then decided to make an account in may 2015 when I got used to the porn and wanted to see what else I could do here I've been blithering ever since.

I think it was back in 2011 when I found this site. Could have been earlier. Didn't make an account until about a month or two ago?

i swear i remember browsing back in middle school.

I graduated HS last year

Browsing since 09, account since 2014. I was somewhat reluctant to sign up due to hangups regarding being a furry by association, now I couldn't care less and love you all.

A few years, not sure how many exactly. I think I started browsing here shortly after joining FA back in mid-2009, so it would probably have been later that year or so when I started browsing here. I made this account a bit less than a year ago, IIRC, so figure just over six years that I lurked before making this account.

About Six Years. I started to hate Luscious during that time, so I came here. Only made an account recently.

Updated by anonymous

About ten minutes. I immediately went to make an account upon realizing how well structured tags were here.

I think about two years, I created account on sole purpose of posting anaghlyph versions of several stereograms. Those red/cyan glasses were so shiny and awesome at the time, now they are collecting dust as the worst method for watching stereoscopic content.
I think couple of them were removed as dublicates.

It was only after introduction of webm support that I took my account into full use again.

So you created your account to post 3D galsses required content? Huh that is quite interesting that must be hard to do. Is it easier wearing the 3D glasses and drawing at the same time or to draw check the glasses and repair?

Also thank you to all those who posted it is quite interesting to see the length of time between browsing and setting up an account for full utilization of a site! Thank you for your feedback. Same to future posters it is cool to see out of curiosity.

I don't even remember. Could be anywhere from 2 years to 2 weeks.

I do remember that VCL was what came before E621 (in my personal timeline). VCL was so much worse organized than E621. IMO E621 illustrates how much better tagging is than directory/file hierarchy,
if and only if the tags are well curated.

(I know E621 still has tagging problems but it's doing better than almost any other site, tagging wise)

EDIT: FA was in there somewhere, as evidenced by my anubis pixel art being on FA, but I forget exactly when.

At least technically, I'm not an artist. I was simply seeing crosseye stereograms and converted them to anaglyphs with I think Gimp plugin at that time.

Gets kinda offtopic, but whatever

Stereograms made from 3D models are simply done by rendering image two times for both eyes. With 2D artwork, similar to puppet animating, you do the image first and then working on making it stereoscopic by seperating things into layers which are put into seperate depths.

Which is why I'm still kinda questioning why puppet animators are granded artist tag on site without second thoughts, but with stereograms I actually have to use usertag to search for specific stereogram creators posts. Because there's actually couple really good stereogram creators and other ones artist tag was removed when I inserted it.

It is quite interesting and don't worry I have yet to see a Forum Post stay on one topic so you are all good lol. But it is neat to see different processes that go into making different art and animations. Especially not being an artist at all it is interesting to see how people do what they do.

Were you active elsewhere in the site? How did you come to become an admin?

I found this site earlier this year but didn't create my account until September. So, a few months.

I can't even remember, I just remember finally startung up an account due to being fed up with impropper tagging that I came across.

Not long, I found stuff that I liked and wanted to favourite them.

About two years before making an account in January 1st, 2015.

Updated by anonymous

About 2 months, and 3 months later i am still getting used to interacting whit the community

Eh, about a couple of days. And that's not an exaggeration.

Four to six years. I was a closeted furry during the time, and I thought for some reason that getting off to these things wouldn't make me a furry but making an account here would.

That's exactly how I thought. I still don't 'accept' the label, but that's because labels aren't important anymore.

I do not know why I did not notice this post of yours... LOL
I was here from 2012...
But my first time here would have probably been 2011 or earlier... X3

Well I originally found and browsed furry art on rule34.xxx, and that was about 6 or 7 years ago, about when I was 12 (I'm 19 now). I found e621 about a year or so after, but only made an account when I turned 18 (last year)

Updated by anonymous

About 4 years i think. This site introduced me to not just porn but furries in general.

around 1 maybe 2 years ^^" and i have created my account ....like a week ago and just now my email arived so i could realy join

I think I found the website after my favorite similar site "furpiled.com" closed down because it was a mimic of this site around 2009 or 2010. I browsed for like maybe a month and a half or two and then created my first account in 2010... rggfrtt. Once the email address got lost and some error on e621 happened I lost a way to access that account. Soooo then I made this one in like 2012 or 2013 I think...
