Topic: Carrie Fisher - 1956-2016

I had the honor of meeting with her twice in my lifetime. Once in 2007 during the 30th Anniversary of Star Wars at a convention in Dallas. She was signing autographs at a booth with Mark Hamill and Billy Dee Williams. While I was waiting in line she told the crowd a story about how George Lucas was frustrated about her breasts...during a scene in which the Millennium Falcon was under attack and the actors were instructed to "jostle" about Lucas noted that Fisher "jiggled" too much for his liking...he said to her "There is no jiggling in the Empire." After that, during every such scene, the crew had her breasts either taped down or secured by ace bandages.

The second time I met her was during a book signing in November of this year for her book The Princess Diarist. She was older, certainly...but she hadn't lost a single ounce of her energy or enthusiasm, smiling and laughing while she posed for photos. While waiting this time she recounted a story of how Dan Aykroyd saved her life during the filming of Blues Brothers when she was choking on a brussel sprout and he performed the Heimlich maneuver.

She first entered my life as the Bun Haired Princess hoping to save the Galaxy in Star Wars and I will never forget her role through the franchise, but I will also remember her appearances in other films like When Harry Met Sally, Soapdish, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, and Fanboys.

She will be dearly missed, but never forgotten.

pony tributes make everything 1000x worse
but at least it's not a diapercub tribute
(though those probably exist too)

The fact that it's an explicicub tribute is probably the worst thing in my book. That and the fact it wasn't even tagged as cub
