Topic: Do character tags apply to almost offscreen bodies?

Posted under General

I have a pic where just a bit of the body is showing along with the penis, which I suppose should go under disembodied_penis.

Thing is, the owner of the penis can be easily inferred by the colors, but I don't know if that counts as enough evidence for a character tag to apply.

If the offscreen character is known, it usually gets tagged, so I think the color is enough to make it count.

Faceless_male, if the body is partially visible. Disembodied penis is literally a penis without a body.

Yep, characters can be tagged from the source as long as there's some evidence (even if minimal) and there's nothing contradictory. It's one of the rare special exceptions to TWYS.

For example, this can be tagged as shadow the hedgehog:

I'd say no in that example. That could be Mickey Mouse for all we know. You need a bit more than body color to determine a character's identity.

Names have a special status for this kind of thing, if the artist gives the character a name that name is allowed to be tagged unless there is contradicting evidence present.

In practice this means for post #917625 that we could tag Shadow if the artist said it's him (because there's nothing contradicting it), but if he said it is Silver we wouldn't tag it because the color doesn't match Silver's.

Anatomically, not all cocks are covered with fur. Especially the same color as the rest of the character. <_< but then again, on e621, that doesn't really matter because logic pretty much flies out the window here.

Or were you talking about the color of the fur on their body? <_<
