From my understanding MLP has being going on since the 80's and has made changes over the years and i was wondering what did you prefer the MLP from the 80's or todays MLP. I was also wondering why y'all like the show and what you like about it.

At first I watched it because I wanted to know what the fuck was hapenning with all the pony stuff that was floating around, besides that Hasbro almost got killed because Derpy talked like, as some said, having some kind of mental dissability. I first watched that episode.

Then (internal) jokes started, like the (pretty known) "send it to the moon" and "do you know bananas?". So I wanted to know what with those too.

The previous versions (or "generations") were a bit realistic, style-wise. So as a child, those never interested me (dude, those were still transmitting on the 90's). Besides being at 8:00 to 10:00Am, I wasn't going to wake up that early to watch tv (probably to play Mario World on my SNES, but still) even to this date, I hardly wake up at 7:00Am

And speaking of styles, I prefer this MLP than previous MLPs because of the (more) cartoony style.

Also, for the sake of watching cartoons. Today's TV has been more stupid with even stupider shows (16 & preggo, Kardashian stuff, reality shows, people killing other people, drugs, etc. This list can be even larger). Dude, pre-2000 TV shows were the best, except CSI. YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAHHHHHH! *"Won't get fooled again" by The Who plays in the background*

I like the show. I like the characters. I love the art people have done but I will not call myself a brony or a pegasister.

There's a shit ton of people that take the whole MLP thing way too far and become obsessive over it. I didn't like MLP at first but it grew on me.

Not exactly. If you look at my faves and I don't doubt you already did, the ferals I have are mostly cute, and the others are anthros. It's rare the case where I faved an e-rated feral.

The only reason I like the new one is because it is (or was, but not getting into that) treated like a cartoon, and not a tie in. Someone who made awesome cartoons for me as a kid mad it as well, so that helped.

The old series are moneygrabbing and the script is what grown men thought small girls should enjoy (should, not would, this is important) while the new generation was first designed by Faust, awoman who hated those old girls shows where the solution to all problems is crying until daddy/brother/boyfriends help you and the characters had the depth of spilled glass of juice.
Faust changed all that, the ponies suddenly got a complex depth to them, they 'man' the fuck up and solve their own problem by helping themselves and the stories are actually not all about looking pretty for your future boyfriend who will care for you in all aspects.
There are also way to many nods and hints to "grown up business" to ignore/make it not funnier, among those are references to Star Wars, credit cards, other series on TV and my personal favourite, falling shit from above and hitting Twilight, including the famous piano from the original Bugs Bunny Cartoons, all those dropped by the Equestrian USPS Department.

Faust makes sure that parents can watch the show with their kids and just be as much entertained as the little ones, which is quite an accomplishment, if you ask me.

I didn't watch any previous ponies, and had rather bad opinion about show targeted to girls before mlp fim.

However, when I was browsing e621 it was rather difficult not to notice sudden influx of mlp pictures. So slowly I was more, and more convinced to give it a try. Final straw to me was post #134204. After watching this I knew I had to watch the show.

My first reaction was: So the rainbow-maned pony is not a main character? :D
But, two first pilot episodes were awesome, and in the middle of all those bad cartoons nowadays it looked like a holy grail. Later episodes, while little worse were still good to me, and up till the end of season 2 I really liked the show. Characters were fun, there was some good humor, and it didn't treat viewers like morons. Even if there were some bad moments (Feeling Pinkie Keen lesson; Sudden appearence of new winged unicorn, and Twilight's brother) they weren't that bad, and were compensated by good parts.

And then came season 3. And it was a pile of shit covered in vomit. It didn't hide anything. It started with all the worst. Stupidity, making idiot out of Celestia, making Mary Sue out of Twilight, crappy villain, and many more thing that were just wrong. I should just quit then, but no. I was sure that it was just false start, that it would get better eventually. But no, it got worse.

There was episode about bulling which was simply insulting to anyone who was ever bullied. Characters, and continuity were not important anymore - it was okay to break everything just to insert some failed attempt of humor, or stupid meme. ("Best" part was when one writer completely ignored, what she written in her previous episode. I suspected that she wasn't watching the show, but I didn't guess that she wasn't watching what she wrote.) In the first two seasons humor, and memes were addition to show, now they became a show, and it just sucked.

They just don't care about show anymore, they care only about money from selling toys.

But I was naively still watching, and hoping that it's just a phase. And then at the top of cake of vomit and shit, there was placed a cherry of piss. The whole princess Twilight shit, and that interview when was stated that "every girl want to be a princess" was finally too much for me. I didn't watch two last episodes, and I don't plan watching next season.

Canon is dead for me, but fortunately fanon is large, and thanks to that even considering Sturgeon's Law there is still lot of fun things there. So, I don't know if I really count as a brony.

I tried 20pc for a bit, but it's not active enough and they go way too far into the roleplaying aspect. I get the feeling they'd rather not allow porn on their at all. Plus, the thing seared my retinae with its godsawful colour scheme until I found it could be changed.

I actually watched some of the old stuff before FIM with my friends as a teen, simply because we were little assholes, would try to make as many sexual jokes as possible. I actually learned about FIM after I had seen a picture of Rainbow Dash and Applejack going ass to ass. This was after I was into furry and Pokemon art, so my first response was "Huh. That's kinda neat." I later found out that FIM was the revamp of the show. Watched a few episodes, and thought they were a nice contrast to the slasher films and cop dramas I always watch. Boom. I'm a brony.

But now the normal fandom that revolves around the show is full of annoying, trite, and just plain stupid shit. The show also got kinda repetitive after a while, and I started watching less and less during season 3. Not to mention all the blatant fan-pandering to bronies that's been going on. Seriously, it's still a kid's show, no matter the context.

Its a great stoner show, for real, you gotta try it sometime.

I decided to watch the show after encountering the Dragon You Over comic by KY/TS (before it had gone fuckin' off the wall), and being curious as to what in the hell was actually going on.

The reviews were good, the trailer looked fine, the torrents were fast and before I knew it I wasted a complete night watching ponies.

Rather unrelated to that, the 4 "official" ouroboros sites are e621, e926, ouroboros.ws and 20pc, the other ones either changed the splash page or aren't indexed by google.
