Hello! c:

A drawing of mine was removed from the site because it "does not meet minimum quality standards."

I'd like to know what this means, so my art can meet the quality standards when I upload here in the future. This was the drawing.

Thank you! <333

Try Dmailing Cat-In-Motion directly. They would be the only one who could reverse the deletion.

Well, I can't speak for Cat-In-Flight, but if you're looking to improve, there are a few things that really stand out.

First, your shading is very scratchy and inconsistent. There is a bunch of missed space.

Second, there are points where you went outside the outline, most notably on one of the arms, but also on the ears, several places on the face, and so on.

Third, there are some major anatomy issues. Most notably, the hands are... well, kind of a mess, really. But also the proportions on the arms - the forearms seem particularly short.

Also, as a general rule, if you want to improve, you ought to try to be critical of your own work. You should be able to see these things yourself, and if you try to see the errors in your work, it'll help you do better in the future.

Thank you so much for the CnC! I do want to improve; I really appreciate it. :)

Glad I could be of service then. If you want to improve, and take a critical eye to your own work, I don't doubt that you will.

Indeed, I have more hope for you than most artists who post here asking about minimum quality standards, because your first response was to take the constructive criticism I offered, rather than giving excuses (which seems to be a rather common response). So you're definitely on the right track with your mindset.

Haha thanks <3

Since I actually hate starting more "why wasn't this accepted?" threads, I might as well necro-bump this one for an issue of mine.

If you go to my page, you'll notice that I've uploaded two pictures (as marked by their blue borders and large count of downvotes for whatever reason). I uploaded the bowser one (not my art) a few days ago, and the monstercat one (my art and my current avatar at the time of this post). Do admins hold off on posts that they are iffy about accepting, or are other higher-quality posts holding a greater priority and they're just ignoring my posts?

The janitors and admins do not exactly have a priority list, if I recall correctly. It takes a while for them to do mostly anything, if you look deep enough.

If you want to play the blame game, blame life; if you wait patiently, they will do it, given time; if you want an opinion, link the posts in question so people don't have to scour through to find them (instructed or otherwise).

The former. Those going through the queue then bring those posts up for discussion/vote for approval or deletion.

I wasn't trying to blame anyone for anything, and I do apologize it I did come across that way.

As for the posts in question:

I wasn't intending to say you blamed anyone, that was meant to be monotonous. Repetitive, if you would, because I've seen people compare their pending posts to posts already approved. Some people take waiting offensively, some people become defensive about their deleted posts, etc., it just gets dull...

Apologies for the miscommunications.

Oh yeah, I've been there before. When my art gets deleted, I don't even get upset anymore. It's more or less the art community telling me to try harder.
