Topic: No rush, but will my post be mod accepted?

Posted under General

It's been a great experience posting on this site so far. I've faced a lot of backlash, but I've also met a lot of great people and I'm convinced I'm getting better, day by day. However, I have been waiting to submit anything new until my 2nd post is accepted. You can see it here

As you can see, it's been a week since I submitted it. I'm confident it's worthy of the site, and I'm only gonna get better from here, but I just was wondering if I should expect it to be approved soon? Take all the time you need. As you can see in the comments and the description, I am confident in it, but also scared because of how steep the competition is. I really don't know if I'm poking a hornets nest here, I don't want it to get instantly deleted, so please don't take this as a threat! It would just be so great to have my work on this site, even if it's just this one picture to use as a profile picture. I really love this site and I want to look professional and have a presence.
Thank you,
ShimSham

1. Your drawing gives me hope in my future drawing endeavours.
2. You will wait until they get around to it just like everyone else.

Do not be discouraged. Keep practicing and make sure to watch some vids for tips and pointers, like this one. Your art will slowly improve

Is it because my art is so bad it makes you feel better about yourself? Cause that would hurt a little. If that's not what you meant, my bad.

Now... I really don't wanna sound whiny, but how come it took you a week to notice my picture, and less than 3 hours to delete it after I made my post? I assume it was good enough to survive that long, how come it got deleted so fast? The same mod who deleted my picture is coming on here to give me art advice. It's just a little discouraging.

The advice is to make it less likely to be rejected in the future. Failure is the first step toward success.

Most likely because he saw your thread, checked the post, then made a verdict.

The time it "survives" is irrelevant, important is what one of the staff thinks of your post after opening it.
If something is neither approved, nor deleted it usually just means nobody looked at it yet.

Oh god! I was really hoping no one saw that post before I deleted it. Considering mods can see it, I apologize. I took a minute to think and realized how immature I was, and when I came back, people saw one of the most childish things I could have done.

No worries. I'd have to be the world's biggest hypocrite to get angry at you for misinterpreting social cues.

IMO if you want to get onto e621, it's good to be indirect, since confidence is no reliable measure of quality. Post your stuff on a gallery site (it's important to make the distinction that e621 is an archive site, not a gallery site), talk to people, show them your art, let them exercise judgement about whether your art should be uploaded.

Since I haven't seen the actual image in question, I can't comment on your level of skill. But I would recommend DrawABox to artists of all skill levels.

Much appreciated both of you! And if you want to see my picture, I actually converted it to text art and uploaded it on my profile! Just click the expand button. I'd love to get critique that way for now even if it's a little inconvienent.

Haha thank you very much! To properly view the image, you'd need to open it in your computers default document program. It's just a placeholder until I can find somewhere else to upload it :)
You're blocked unfortunately so you might not get this!
