I know at the end of the day it's just a title with a few extra tweaks to your account to make you better at posting things but I've been shooting for this title for a while now. Being completely honest there's no 'Real' reason I want be one outside of "I Wanna Be Helpful" lolz

So I thought it was about time I finally spoke up and ask "how does one become Privileged?"
Not in a mean way but just as a genuine question.

Would you need to post/tag things in the hundreds or Thousands or just generally be around? Could you give me a ball park figure or spell it out for me because,
The public info on this was kinda vague ~ ‿ ~;)

How to become one:

To become a privileged user, start helping out by uploading lots of good posts (with permission!), helping with tagging projects, reporting malicious users, updating the wiki, or adding note translations. Anything to be helpful. It doesn't hurt to get to know us on the IRC, either.

One of the ways of becoming a user with any type of authority over a community is to not ask for it on a whim. All too often when people want to have a higher rank, it is because they want some form of power over others and not use it for what it's intended for.

Show that you have an interest in the community by helping out with the tags, be friendly around others, and have a decent understanding of what it takes to handle arguments and disagreements.

Wow, I haven't even thought about it like that, Sorry for asking then.

It's not that I'm looking for power over anyone, It's more so that I just wanted to help out more but adding to one of my favorite sites and validation for the site that I've been doing good with the stuff I've done thus far. I know you didn't directly say I was looking for power in a evil villain kind of way but I thought I might as well clear up any misunderstanding while I'm in the spot light ya know?

Not exactly m8, I wanted the upgrade so I 'Could' help more.
That's my whole reasoning and drive to want to get that title. Sure it may not be something a grand as some other but at the end of the day does it really matter? I just want help add to this site where ever I can being 'Privileged' would only help me achieve that goal. =)

Though from the looks of it I can go ahead and kiss that dream/plan good bye. Pretty much ensured that I'm gonna stay level 1 with this latest idea of "Being direct and not so shy to make Waves for once"

The dream isn't completely dead though, Just because I will never be Privileged doesn't mean I still can't help as a member and as a contributor

You can help out the community even without having a rank. It all comes with experience, the more you know with what to do with the site, the more probable it can be for you to be recognized by said community. Stick to that, and you're golden.

When you really think about it, It really does just comes down to experience and if you have enough of it; it only makes sense that you 'level up' lolz

Which me thinking this was a good thread, shows I don't have enough juuust yet ~‿~. Not that this wasn't a good idea because, a bit of embarrassment for this info is totally worth it in my book. ╹‿╹) This just wasn't one of the better ideas I've had lolz.

You're not going to get banned for asking a question on the forums. Just put in enough hard work and be cooperative/agreeable with the community and it could happen. What it all boils down to is that it takes dedication and not outright asking for it.

EDIT: After looking at your profile it looks like you are, for the most part, good at uploading quality posts. Do more of that.

Lot of promotions are given based on recommendations from the users that the administration already trusts. Positive user reports are a thing, though they're not often used.

I used to submit one such report per month, and about half of them were approved. Some of those users are now janitors and contributors. The staff doesn't have time to keep an eye on everyone, so such reports can be useful.

As for how to get someone to recommend you? Well, being helpful on the forums and in post comments usually works, as do things like extremely high post count and tag count (without mistags).

Same for you dood and I could get that. I mean for as long as I've been on this site I've only seen about 3 or 4 mods and admins tops. They most have their hands full 24/7 and waaay to busy to notice this random peep tagging and posting stuff when there's about 50 or so other people doing the same thing. Even if they do in a 1 in a billion chance do take notice; like @Aanyi said "What reason would they have to trust me?"

I mean I haven't done anything bad outside of the occasional cringey comment now and again but it's not like I've done anything notable good ether. My records at 'Zero' meaning from the outside looking in, I could go ether way =T

Push ups, sit ups, and plenty of juice.

Help newbies, submit tag aliases and implications, tag a lot, tag decently, upload content while also following the sites guidelines.

Janitors approve/delete posts, are part of the staff (that is a benefit), but otherwise has everything a contributor has. Here is a screenshot list of ranks on E621.

Ideally, janitors clean up the mess that gets uploaded here:

Thought looks at it now and that is just my opinion but the Contributor ranks seems a little OP. I mean at first I thought it was a rank given to people who post their own art but looking at it now:

"Contributor: No upload limit, submitted posts are auto-approved"

Have any Contributor been banned or caught abusing that kind of power to post?

Make lot's of tag edits I got my priveledged around 20k, or upoad a lot of stuff but be careful allways upload the best version of a picture because it will get taken down if someone uploads a better version.

I haven't heard of anyone making a major enough mistake worth getting banned over. Contributors and higher should be able to review themselves - I'd like to believe that's why they got their rank in the first place.

Despite that, mistakes do happen. Everyone is human. As long as they are willing to learn from the experience, there should be no issue.
